1st scan after a positive

Morning all.

Hope your all doing ok.

So yesterday we did another test as directed by the clinic, a week after the first one. It was positive again ➕😁 (still can’t believe it)

I’m now waiting for a phone call from the clinic to book in for 1st scan which will be anywhere between 6-8 weeks (I’m currently 5wks)

Even this waiting is driving me mad 🙈

Anyway, When will I call my doctor to let them know? Obviously when it happens naturally you ring your doctors but IVF is different? Will the clinic then eventually refer me? xx

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and had my vitality scan which is the scan you will be having

The didn't tell me to contact my doctors I just had to go to the antenatal in the hospital and register myself there

Hi Aame7800 the ivf clinic will book in your viability scan - you can normally ask any questions there and they should give you advice on what to do next. After you have the scan you can call your GPs and ask the reception to book in for first midwife appointment which is normally around week 10 (I would suggest calling immediately after you get home as midwives tend to be in high demand!). My ivf clinic have always given me a summary sheet to hand to my midwife. You don't necessarily have to make an appointment with your gp as the pregnancy will already have been confirmed at that stage. At your first midwife appointment they should go through everything with you, and can also book your dating scan (normally sometime around week 12). Hope everything goes well for your scan. I'm on week 13 now and have to wait another 7 weeks for next scan!! It's killing me 😯😅

Congratulations! I hope you don’t have too long to wait for the scan! I had mine about 7 weeks after which they discharged me and told me to contact my GP. I explained to my GP’s receptionist my situation and she said I didn’t need to see my GP but just book into see the midwife at a certain point (I think it may have been 8 weeks but it was a long time ago now so can’t quite remember). My midwife took it from there. She did book me in for a couple of extra scans with it being an IVF baby and they also wouldn’t let me go past my due date before inducing me but other than that it was just treated as a normal pregnancy.

congrats 😀😀😀best news ever. I am 9.5 weeks and have to say the wait till my scan at 7 weeks was torture...we in for another scan today for reassurance. I called gp straight away and got booked in for midwife also today and 12 week scan. .we you know your pregnant you know so I say call gp...so exciting xxx

Currently in the 2ww and over analysing every symptom... even earache! It seems such a long old time.
