Awww Im sorry you are feeling so down today! I think we all get days like this and your hormones being out of sorts doesnt help along with all the stress and worry that you are under. Just wanted to send some hugs your way.xx

It's just a rollercoaster but we have to take it as it comes. A light bleed isn't an indication that it's the end. Its great also that it has stopped.

Fingers crossed all will be fine.

Best wishes

I bled heavily at 5 weeks 3 days and spotted right through until 8 weeks. I went on to have my baby, she’s now 18months so don’t give up hope just yet. They never got to the bottom of where the bleed was coming from.

I remember I went to A&E as the bleed occurred on a weekend and they checked my cervix and told me it was still closed which was a massive relief.

Better 5 weeks 1 day than not 🤷🏼‍♀️ seems to be normal enough from what I read on here about bleeds etc. Hopefully yours will settle. When can you get checked at the clinic? Have you called the nurse for reassurance?

I think I’d be just the same as you , it’s just one worry after the other. Just try your best to do one day at a time

Sending hugs of understanding

Thank you the bleeding has settled not as much as it was thank god....The clinic just keep telling me to calm down relax but it’s so hard😣 and to wait for the scan which is on the 12th of March x

Something I remember doing which helped was, I asked the doctor to test my HCG levels (I think this is the same as Beta which my clinic doesn’t do). I did it twice a few days apart. Once I realised it was going up I stopped worrying a lot more, perhaps you can do that for peace of mind until scan date?

Is the bloods the same as taking clear blue digital do you think? My clinic won’t do bloods they think it’s pointless i don’t know why...

I meant my GP when I said doctor. My IVF clinic are the same as yours, they don’t do blood work and I had to wait for my viability scan. I actually went to my GP to ask for a blood test but he suggested it before I even asked for it. It was the only thing he said he could do as it was too early to see anything in a scan.

Ok, so at least you have a time frame ( long as it seems) March is here on Sunday so not too bad 😣 only thing ya can do is to try and get calmer and relax whilst staying busy . Are you at work or off? Can you plan some things to pass the time quicker? Cinema trip, dinner out, walk by a river etc etc . If you had something every two days that world be good? Do you have the Calm app or mindful ivf app to help you calm down on purpose ? Are you reading a book ? Do you do mindfulness puzzles or colouring ? If they’ve told you to relax then tell yourself off when you stress , have some ‘snap yourself out of it’ sentences for when your brain gets ridiculous . Like : stop it, you’re doing everything you can , it’s not the 12th yet so just relax , you are ok , list ten things you are thankful for.

I even find helping someone else gets the focus off yourself and allows ya to take a break from your own head pickle .

It is not easy , but you will get through this .

Count it down , watch some movies. Go meet friends for a decaf 🥰

You can do this , you are brave.

Hugs 💖💐

Omg love this 💕 I’m definitely going to do all these. Apart from work as I’m on annual leave and sick leave after due to circumstances.. think it’s a fantastic idea. Thank you RhinoCat 😊

Glad you are off 😘 get some mindfulness puzzle books from the Works etc. I started a new book myself yesterday . Defo great for passing an hour or so 😘 need to get back to the colouring too! Still find it funny but it is so relaxing . I made myself a happy play list which I put on whilst I do it and it feels like a wee happy moment on the middle of all things. Look after yourself 💐

Hi Eram. Sorry this is being such an anxious time for you. All sounds good with bleeding settling down and HCG levels rising etc. Is there anything else your clinic can do to help you with your anxieties? More HCG tests etc.?

I took a test yesterday and it said 2-3 which is right with my dates. They just told me to relax and stay calm but my god I wish I could I’m always so frightened to go to the toilet 😥

It all sounds good then, but obviously it's hard to shake the anxiety for something that you have been trying so long for and that is so precious to you. Hopefully the anxiety subsides as you get further on in your pregnancy, but feel free to continue to reach out for reassurance on here! With most of this journey, I can only really recommend distraction and doing nice things for yourself. Sending lots of love. xxxx

Hey Eram I’m sorry to hear you have been feeling so worried. When I was 5 weeks pregnant I saw the counsellor at my clinic due to constant anxiety. She told me it was impossible for all worries to go away (without a magic wand) however the key is being able to find a way to stop it building. Thinking something is wrong can keep your brain going through a process of constant analysis where it’s continually scanning your body for something that could possibly be wrong and your brain starts building a worst case scenario situation to try to protect you. It’s tough as it just keeps building up however if you can find a way to break the thinking for a bit I find you can calm down a little. For me I found a few big deep breaths could work wonders, a big breath out let’s our body know we are ok and not under attack. Sometimes a mantra can help - I have a book which suggests for the first trinester ‘control the controllable’ which I thought was quite good, although it does also suggest you are what you eat and for me just now that makes me a potato 😂 so I’m taking it with a pinch of salt. Unfortunately worry is both useless and human but I do hope you manage to give yourself a little rest, maybe if your clinic has a counselling service you could book in? Sending hugs ♥️ x
