Embryo thawing

Hi Lovely ladies, hope you are having a good day.

I am thinking about the thawing of my embryo on the day of my FET. A friend of mine just told me she lost 2 embryos during the thawing process and I am very worried. I know the successful rates are high but i can't stop thinking about it. Everything stresses me out now a days and I couldn't sleep properly last night. It feels like i have to be nervous about something at all times :( I asked my GP for a counseling session but haven't heard back from them yet...

Any motivational words please?

Hey lovely,

Embryos can of course be lost in the thaw but this is really quite rare now due to improvements in the process. My clinic expects close to 99% to survive. It’s crazy nerve wracking but try to have faith in your little embryo, odds are hugely in its favour for surviving the thaw.

I think IVF can be really anxiety inducing. It certainly has been for me! I just finished a m long course of CBT for it which I did find helpful. I would encourage you to push your dr if you feel you’d benefit from counselling.

Good luck xx

Hello my dear I can sympathize there’s always something anxiety inducing on this journey right. I was worried about the thaw too, but as below there are very high success rates and little worries from the clinics. As easy said try not to worry deep breaths and try and have faith. Good luck xx

I have had the same thoughts but like girls said, we have to trust the clinic and our embryo will fine x

Awh pet , it is possible but my clinic told me 90% thaw and because ours was high grade they hoped it would be fine and it thawed perfectly . Recent results seem to be more hopeful, maybe your friend is speaking from the past when things weren’t so good?

I believe hers was over 2 years ago. Maybe things are better now. I hope so. We got 3 embryos- 4AB day 5, 4CB day 6 and 3CB day 6. They would like to start with the 4AB. I am thinking of the 2 which are day 6. Do you think it makes a difference?

I think hun that they don’t freeze anything that they believe wouldn’t thaw. I have similar grades to you too xxx
