Hi all... Hope everyone is having a decent day! Just about to embark on our first and only egg donor ivf in Prague. Got the list of meds through and am due to kick-start things by taken 3mg of Decapeptyl depot on 13th march...... I have previously taken prostrap following my 1st surgery and had terrible side effects... My therapy plan going forward is all based on my period arriving on 26th March... But when I took the 1 injection of prostrap my periods stopped completing for over 9mts.. Am petrified that this will happen again and the plan of matching my cycle with a donor will fail and it will be game over for us. Our life saving are going into this plus all my mums!! To say am already stressed is an understatement.
Any advice would b greatly appreciated.. Thanks girls

Perhaps not the answer you want but they are similar and do the same thing. Not sure where your period went to afterwards though....I didnt have the same issue with prostap but I did have crap side effects. My clinic have allowed me to use the contraceptive pill to control my cycle in the past but that may not work out if your treatment is soon. It might be that Decapeptyl works out better for you! Good luck.xx
Am praying that it does. My amh is so low now.. Only 0.6... That we know donor egg is our only option.... I keep telling myself not to stress b4 its even happening but am so use to things going wrong!
I completely sympathise....there is always something that seems to go t!ts up! Its horrible being so out of control, I have to keep telling myself "one step at a time". Not easy advice to take but its all so out of our hands!! Hoping you dont get any spanners in the works this time around!!xx
Hi Annie, I went to a clinic in Brno, Czech Republic, and had a similar protocol with the depot to shut down my cycle but was also put on the pill to align my cycle with our donor. (AMH was 0.8). My period was then planned by the break in the pill then 2 days into it I started on the progynova. My understanding is that Depot stops your natural period arriving but the clinic know what they are doing so you need to trust them. Good luck xx
Yeah I asked about going on pill and the consultant was very adamant that I didn't need too... She's given me full list, including trigger shots, higher dose of progesterone, estrogen and more injection for blood clotting! Am lost with all the fancy names! My period started today and my co-ordinator was happy the the Decapeptyl was still to go ahead for the 13th Marc.. Said my period should arrive by 26..but if not then am to hold off on all the other steps for now... Kinda know my luck it will just b another disaster of wait g for my period to kick in again but am sure they have ways of making it happen. Hoping to be in sync with donor within 2 months
How did u find your experience in Prague? They have been so helpful answering all my silly questions... Much nicer than the Irish clinic I was 1st with... Just found it all to be very impersonal and money oriented!
My clinic was in Brno. I honestly couldn’t fault them. As you say they answered all our questions and were very professional. When we arrived we were impressed at the state of the art clinic and found they offered what would be extras in the UK as standard and included in the price. We were very happy with the service and our first round worked! Much better than the service we got from 2 different private clinics in the UK!
