Hi,

I had Hydrosalpinx. I had to have a Laparoscopy last May. It’s only now that I’m starting my first round of IVF. It takes time I’m afraid. From the diagnosis I had to wait 6 months to have the operation then recover times ect X

Hi Run4ever. Is your consultant sure it's a hydrosalpinx? I've seen a few doctors who have all had differing opinions on whether I had a hydrosalpinx, cysts etc. and this is even after a laparoscopy, a million scans etc. If you're at a private clinic I would call and ask for a nurse/doctor to give me a call back with further information, but otherwise you'll probably have to wait for your next appointment. I find this all drags so slowly.... there needs to be more urgency! Every day is precious and potentially anxiety-riddled and stressful. :(

Hi, I too had hydrosalpinx - in both tubes. One was removed after an ectopic pregnancy and the other after a failed frozen embryo transfer. But once they were both gone, my next transfer was successful. I know how difficult of a diagnosis this is and the thoughts of IVF, time delay etc., but I can tell you, you are a lot stronger than you think and it'll be all worth it! 6 weeks feels like a lifetime, I'd also suggest to give them a call and try to get more information in the meantime, it's your right as a patient!
