Nausea

I’m 6w3d, and the nausea is horrendous. Nothing is helping. Not even meds. Thankfully I haven’t vomited yet but it’s pretty unbearable. Ideas?

Ginger biscuits? I’ve heard they help.

I had this from around 8 weeks onwards. Ginger biscuits help to a degree and ginger sweets if you can get hold of them. Small meals, even though eating is the last thing on your mind. Need to keep your energy levels up, drink plenty of water (sipping helped) . It does get better but pretty annoying in the meantime. I was never sick but just wished I could be for some relief from the nausea. I hope you feel better soon xx

I had severe nausea and vomiting in my last pregnancy. I was vomiting around 10 x per day and was pretty much housebound. I was signed off work for almost the whole summer! The only thing that eventually made a difference was a combination in cyclizine and ondansetron, I still vomited but was able to at least leave the house. I found drinking any type of fluid pretty much impossible but hot drinks were easier and nibbling on fruits like melon helped get some fluid in, dry biscuits and plain toast helped. Also thick milkshakes through a straw so you don’t have to smell what you are drinking. I just ate what I felt able to which changed daily and I found it easier to eat if I didn’t have to prepare it myself. I’m sorry you feel so rubbish I know how miserable it is but hopefully it will all be worthwhile x

Hey, I’ve had nausea since bang on 6 weeks and it’s awful. Cold fizzy drinks and chewing gum helps and that’s about it. Prescribed anti-sickness medication was ineffective for me unfortunately, but may work for you. I expect my nausea will last until I give birth now. Good luck...x
