We finally got our NHS fertility appointment through. We’ve already been tested and have those results but this is our first fertility specialist appointment.
Anyone from the uk (NHS) know what’s covered in that first appointment? Even a rough idea. Would rather ask that overthink it between now and then.

So if it’s the same as what we had after all of our tests, our consultant met with us and basically told us what our options were which was just IVF or keep trying naturally and hope for the best so after 3 years of trying we obviously wanted the IVF as have already tried for so long. Then we had to make an appointment with the nurse practitioner so that we could learn how to do the injections and what drugs I would be on and then after that it was just a case of waiting for the first day of my cycle. Through the NHS those appointments were few and far between unfortunately so took 2 months from the consultant actually telling us we needed IVF to then starting on injections and starting the process.
At our first appointment we met a consultant, I had an internal ultra sound to check my pipes etc.
Then I met a nurse who weighed me, took my height and calculated my bmi to ensure I met the criteria.
I also had to go to the toilet and take a swab of my ‘whoha’ 😂with a earbud thing so they could check for diseases😂🤣
Then I had a blood test to check my amh.
The consultant also reviewed my husbands contribution 😎😂.
Then concluded we would probably need ICSI.
Hope that settles your heart .
Hope it goes well
Rhinocat x
Ps we then had a review of this two months later to be officially added to the list. Then 7 months later we got our letter to say we were top of the list .
A few tests, blood, smear etc. Height and weight. Maybe a scan depending on where you are at on your cycle. Then they just go through the process with you. Maybe meet the consultant and talk about the protocol they recommend.
