At Home Fertility Tests (need to check if legit company)

Hi ladies,

In Nov we said goodbye to our NHS clinic as we have exhausted our NHS-funded IVF rounds and are off in the big scary world of Private treatment. We will be TTC naturally again whilst we save for IVF but I do want to get my AMH tested as I am sure it has decreased significantly from when it was tested about 2 years ago!

I have been searching online for an at-home fertility test (AMH / FSH) and I know MediChecks is one that has been suggested/recommended. But where we are a bit tight for £ I have found a website that is currently offering a whopping 75% discount - so the actual test is coming to about £18. Something just feels weird about it tho as that is a pretty huge discount so wanted to know if anyone has heard/used this company before? I am not sure if I am allowed to add the name of the website so for anyone who is interested in helping me play detective, I can DM you, lol.

Just throw the name out there....I know we cant discuss IVF clinics but not heard anyone not being allowed to name places for bloods as medichecks comes up a lot!xx

Would your GP not do an FSH test for you?! My GP did my general bloods when I explained that we had failed treatments and was still trying naturally and wanted to check everything was still ok (we were of course planning to have private treatment) but they did the basic ones for us, just couldnt do an AMH.xx

No they have flat out refused 😣 Which is frustrating when you hear of other GPS being much more helpful. One IVF friend said her GP asked a list of all the tests that the private clinic were requesting and signed them ALL off for her to get done on the nhs.

Oh so flipping frustrating! I think I was very lucky and had a very sympathetic GP although he did say if we needed anymore then we'd have to pay for them but we got the basics. Could you even say you're worried that you're going into the menopause and could they do bloods to check.....not sure how old you are! Im just having a little look online at the company and it looks ok. I would perhaps check if they have an accreditation for their laboratories although I did check the lab they are affiliated with in London and they say they are but I dont see any ISO number which is a quality and management UK standard.xx

To be honest, I'm more likely to switch practises altogether than try to ask again. She isn't very warm and although I've had really pleasant experiences, she was very short with me regarding the fertility testing when I asked last time

I decided to go for it regarding the test! I will keep everyone posted with my experience should anyone else want to use them (they seem to have discounts on all the time!).

Sounds like a plan. Our GP was actually a bloke but very family orientated so perhaps that helps.

I'm doing ok thanks. We are planning to fo another cycle at the end of the month....I'm clearly a bit deranged and penniless now!🤣 We had an ERA done in December & discovered my implantation window is a full day out so hoping this helps us move forward!!xx

Thanks for sharing, I have just looked at their website and spotted an endorsement from one of the consultants from my NHS clinic!

He is a good consultant so I doubt he will be putting his name for something that wasn't legit x

I ordered it yesterday for £17.50! A lovely lady messaged me yesterday too to say she has used them and it was a good experience/easy process. I will keep you all posted how I get on! x
