Failed cycle #1 , perfect embryo PGS testes 46 chromosomes

Hi all ,

I had my blood test today and unfortunately it was negative. I had an excellent embryo PGS tested (46 chromosomes) everything was perfect ... the transfer, hormones etc . I was on a controlled cycle I took Lubion injections, cyclogest and Progynova and I still failed :( . I only had one embryo so I will have to start all over again . I am 36 years old with low egg reserve. My Dr was shocked and told me this has never happened before with any of his patients. Has this happened to any of you ? I am wondering if I should take one month break to to continue.

i cried a lot this morning because it’s devastating however, we shouldn’t give up ;) I guess it wasn’t meant to be this time .

Happy new year to all you and I wish you all the best x

Hello dear

This happened to me one month ago. Perfect pgs tested embryo and still bfn. My doctor said its unusual but it does happen and pgs does not guarantee a pregnancy. My friend also transfered a pgs tested embryo and failed. I know how you feel right now... For me the negative was like the world had stopped. It took me some time to recover. I only have a mosaic embryo left so like you i will have to start again. My next Ivf treatment is in February. Please do bot feel alone.... Take your time and once you feel better start again.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much and I hope we both have better luck next time x have a wonderful NY

So sorry this happened to you. We had a top grade PGD embryo transferred and it also failed and was our only one. But we were told that it was more likely to fail than work: 95% thaw properly and then 45% of those result in BFP. I guess all the clinics have different success rates. The only good thing for us is that they've decided to switch up my meds for stimming so when I start again in a week it should produce more eggs and therefore more embryos. We had 10 eggs, 8 fertilised, ended with 4 in the freezer but only one suitable for transfer.

Hi Zeena ,

I can only imagine how you are feeling it’s not easy . Was your embryo PGS tested ? If you had two embryos transferred maybe you’ve just lost one and not the other . Is your clinic open today ? I will keep my fingers crossed for you and if you ever need to talk and I am here . It’s really hard I couldn’t believe it when I tested negative but hopefully better luck next time. We shouldn’t give up x

I wouldn’t worry at this stage. My cousin transferred three embryos last year and she started bleeding around two weeks later because she lost one off the embryos and one month later she lost the 2 embryo but the 3 rd survived and she gave birth to a beautiful healthy girl 6 weeks ago so you never know ;)

Hello hope you’re doing great? My blood test came back Negative. It was a tough one but Thank GOD I’m getting better now. Thank you all for the love and care. x x

I am so sorry to hear that! I just experienced the same during my first failed pgs tested embryo frozen transfer two weeks ago. I was so upset about it. I have managed to feel better after doing work, yoga and mediation. If you need to chat, please let me know. Sending you lots of good vibes!!! X

Thanks a lot ;) it’s always nice to talk to someone . It’s really hard ;( I was very upset yesterday but I feel better today . I do my best to be always positive. My DR is on holiday and I will be seeing him on Monday. He told be to continue talking cyclogest to delay my period until he returns. If I have enough follicles I will start another cycle of IVF in January . My problem is that I don’t have enough follicles . In September I only had 3 follicles so my ivf was cancelled and in October I had 7 and ended up with one good embryo so hopefully is time I will have more . Are you planning another cycle soon ? I really hope that next time we will both be lucky x

Thanks for your good vibes! I am glad to know you are feeling a bit better. I hope you feel better day by day!

It is good you would see your consultant soon. Best of luck with your appointment. 7 follicles were good. I hope you would get more next time. I got 9 eggs and 5 fertilised ones. I am still thinking whether I would get pgs done again as it doesn't guarantee a pregnancy.

I will see my consultant on 9th Jan regarding the next steps. I am hoping to do a second cyle in Feb.

Sending you lots of baby dust. Keep in touch! Xx

I think I will not do PGS testing again . It’s not 100 percent guaranteed . Watch YouTube ( Norbert Gleicher , MD) x have a wonderful new year
