Failed Embryo Transfers

Hi

I am wondering if you may be able to help i had two frozen embryos in December 2022 and 2023.

One resulted in a miscarriage at 11 weeks the other i had still birth at 25 weeks

After that i have tried two transfers both have failed one was in October 24 and now i am 8dp5dt and have had a negative test. My odt is Monday but i know its not worked. The embryo that worked were a 4ab, unfortunately one embryo before my recent transfer did not survive thaw that embryo was 4ab too currently transfered a 3ab.

i have severe leg pains and period pains.

I'm so sorry for your losses Haffy, I don't really have any advice as I've had multiple failed transfers fresh and frozen after my losses too. I wonder is it because the body remembers the trauma and is now trying to keep us 'safe' from more pain. I don't know why you'd be getting such severe leg pain and it might be worth getting it checked out just to be sure.

Hi Alex thank you for replying i really appreciate it. I am so sorry for your losses i really struggle to process mine i just feel its like a race that i have to keep moving and have no time to even process. thats what worries me i lost my baby boy in may and since then every transfer doesn’t work. I just feel as though is it the grief or the trauma. But i don’t know how to break through.

Suffering from endo and wanting to go through another cycle but just can’t seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel been on this journey since 2021.

This journey is very soul destroying. I'm someone who deals with grief, either from losing my two boys or failed transfers by having a plan moving forward and when you don't have that, it can be very difficult. IVF also has a lot of unexplained things such as failed transfers that can be so hard to get right in your head. EFT tapping can be really good to rewire the brain out of trauma and I find it good when my head is spinning a bit with anxiety. There are things you can do to support yourself but don't feel under a time pressure for another cycle, it's more important that you feel right to go ahead with another cycle.

All I can say is keep going and you’ll get there. I miscarried before I started IVF and then had 4 failed transfers. I did the EMA, Alice and ERA tests - added probiotics and had a day 7 transfer instead of day 6 and my fifth transfer resulted in my 3 month old daughter. I thought it wouldn’t happen- I’ve been where you are. Good luck x

I’m so sorry for your losses. After my 21 week loss which was conceived from letrozole/timed intercourse, we it took a year, turning to ivf and two failed transfers before I conceived again. For me, a major factor was stress and the toll the grief of the loss took on my body. For the last transfer that worked I did tons of meditation, yoga, running and acupuncture to try and reduce my stress levels and relax my body. We also switched from fully medicated cycles to partially medicated. After so many failed cycles I thought I’d never have kids and now I’m holding one of my twin girls as write this. I know it’s hard but I hope you can press on.
