When was your OTD?

I had a 5 day blastocyst transferred on Saturday and have been given an OTD of the 29th (15 days after transfer) that seems quite a long time.

I’m curious how that compares to others x

Hello, I had a 5 day blastocyst transferred and my test day was 11 days after. It was supposed to be ten but day ten fell on a Sunday so I had to wait until Monday morning! Mine was a blood test at the clinic though, my clinic doesn’t do home testing. I’m not sure if that’s the same as yours or if that’s why there is a difference in days? x

in reply toHelenJudi1

I have to do a home test on the 29th. The clinic opens on the 30th and I have to call in then with the result from the 29th...

Maybe that’s why it’s longer than mine was then? Does it take longer to show up in a urine test than a blood test??

in reply toHelenJudi1

I have no idea..?

I googled it and apparently a blood test can pick up hcg levels much earlier than a pregnancy test. So that might explain it... however, some early tests can pick up hcg after a week... it depends though I guess if you’re on any medication that could trigger a false result? Mine wasn’t a medicated cycle so that could be the difference? x

Maybe... I have no idea...

Home test x

So 15 days after transfer seems quite long then?

It depends I think if you’re on a medicated cycle or not...

in reply toHelenJudi1

It was medicated so that must be why, thanks x

No I didn’t I tested early day 9 which was my period start date and cramps were so bad I got myself in a right state also got into trouble from the clinic for testing early! I’ve had cramping all the way through and a crying mess which is not me at all. No one explained the crying side of things or cramping!

in reply toLinzmm78

Oh no, it’s so hard when we wind ourselves up! I haven’t had the crying but lots of cramping.

Hi I had a 5 day fet and mine was 11 days after at home. Is it to do with the Xmas period that they have told you to test late maybe? X good luck x

in reply toMiraclebabyno2

I guess it could be. There must be a reason I just wish I had thought to ask at the time.

Ah well, 13 days to go... 😊

Mine was 9dp5dt with a home test medicated fresh cycle. 15 days does seem like a very long time. Can you ask them why? I’m sure they have their reasons. Good luck with everything.

in reply toSuzy86

I don’t really want to bother them, I’ll ask when I go in again. I just need to get through the next 12 days 🤯😁

Mine was 15 days too. I thought perhaps it was to avoid the scenario of getting an early positive and then it turning into a chemical? But I have no idea really, I think each clinic just has its own way of doing things. Loads of luck x

My OTD was 7dp5dt, blood test. I also did a home test 6dp5dt and got a faint positive.

The results are low this early.

I did a fresh transfer following a short protocol with a trigger shot. From what I have read, the effect of the trigger shot is generally out of the system within 9 days.

However, some clinics might advise to test later to get more certain results (considering also potential late implantation, early chemical pregnancies, etc) as not much can be done usually to help the pregnancy so early.

Other clinics may opt to test earlier, to have a result sooner, relieve anxiety, adjust any medication if needed, etc. For me it helped to have the test so early, as I had also a very light bleeding the day before the OTD and when they tested my progesterone level the next day it was low, so they increased my dose and now I have my 8 week old :)

That all makes sense, and is probably where my clinic is coming from. Thanks for sharing x
