I see on here a lot 0td, is that the date your period due? Does anyone bother with early testing?

Personally I wouldn’t as most pregnancy tests won’t always detect a pregnancy that soon & could cause yourself avoidable stress.

I took my test day after my missed period which showed positive ( I miscarried)

Ultimately it’s your decision and you must do what feels right for you.

Thank you for your message jess1981. I did test today 6 days before my missed period with first response and it’s negative. When I was trying before , had 18 month break due to health reasons, I used to spend so much money on tests!!! How do I resist. It just causes heart ache and for you to be in limbo as you wonder if the test might be positive if you try again in a few days. I’m on the couch , with a blanket and my dogs , eating fudge and feeling deflated . Thank you for your words of encouragement x x x x

It’s way too soon! You’re definitely still in with a chance. I hate those companies that say you can test 6 days early excuse my French bulls*it. It’s money making scam out of vulnerable people. They know it’s very unlikely & will make you buy more tests which is what they want🤬

Every doctor will recommend you test from day of missed period , most early tests are sensitive enough to pick up small amounts of HCG on missed period.

Until the period shows up you are with a chance xoxo

Personally I wouldn't either, I had a blood test on my otd which showed a chemical pregnancy. If I'd tested earlier by peeing on a stick it probably would have shown me as pregnant and I would have had my hopes up only to get bad news from my hospital xxx

I'm only speaking from my perspective though so you do what feels right for you. I'm ok thanks, we are just waiting to see if we can go ahead with our first fet once I've had a scan tomorrow morning. How are you finding the tww? (Silly question I know) , I will keep everything crossed for you xxx

I have promised myself that if I ever do get a positive from the hospital I will go buy a pregnancy test just so I can see a positive after peeing on a stick - that is completely the wrong way round and probably sounds a bit crazy I know lol xxx

Good luck tomorrow Laura. Tww is hard it’s the first time I’ve been well enough off the pill to try to conceive and feel positive that things might go well so building up my hopes really. They have offered me Clomid at the clinic but my Accupuncture stays to stick with what we are doing for know as it could make me poorly due to endo.

OTD is the official test date given by clinics for people to test after their IVF treatment. It’s usually a couple of weeks after embryo transfer, which would be similar to the time you’d expect your period in a natural cycle.

Jess & Laura are right. If you’re trying to conceive naturally & your cycles are regular, you’re best off waiting until you’ve missed your period so you reduce the chances of a false negative & spending £££ on more tests! Good luck x
