Hi Everyone,Gosh this just gets harder sometimes! Although there was only 1 follicle this ivf cycle we decided to go through with egg collection as the doctor said my estrogen was increasing nicely so very likely an egg. Last cycle we only had two follicles and two eggs were retrieved and both fertilised and were a good standard (bfn, then frozen was a bfp but missed miscarriage at 8 weeks).
Unfortunately today at collection there was no egg. I had a cry then the doctor suggested sometimes the egg can end up lost inside somewhere so there’s a tiny chance IUI can still work? So they completed this. Has anyone heard of this before and and any times it’s worked?
Just a bit devastated I suppose and looking for some positivity. I really thought this time was going to be it!
Thanks everyone.

Hi Chasing. So sorry to hear this, but I would have thought that they would be able to see whether the follicle had erupted, showing that an egg would be off down your Fallopian tube. Just hoping that this is what has happened and all ends OK. Thinking of you. Diane
Thanks Diane, I’m thinking the same. Feeling much better about everything today, this group and the success stories definitely help! Time to start saving again for another try!
Hi chasing. I feel sorry to hear about all this problem of yours. This is life and it all happens. But one thing we all now make sure that everything has solutions, we just need to be focused and active to get all information as well. We are always in a hurry and most of the time in desire of best we don't focus on the bad events which are happening to us. Sometimes, we don't even bother about more best solutions for our problem. When I was facing the problem of not being able to conceive baby that time my husband was the only one who was there all the time to find the solutions for us and here i got the best one plan for me. I wish every lady find the best solution for her related to her issue and health on time.
