Is a 4 day clomid protocol normal?

The fertility unit nurse told me to up to 2 tablets a day, but only to do days 2-5 a d said that's what they always advise. I'm almost certain the doctor told me day 2-6 when I saw her months ago. Not sure what to do now? I don't want to decrease my chances by following or not following what she said. Has anyone else been prescribed a 4 day clomid course?

I’m on Clomid and take 50mg per day for 5 days. I think on the information leaflet it says the different lengths you can take it for so worth checking that and maybe give the doctors a call to double check. Good luck with it!!xx

How long have you been on clomid? Are you finding its making any difference? I'm hopeful but not expecting anything. First dose didnt cause me to ovulate unfortunately. I checked the leaflet and it said take for 5 days, so the nurse clearly doesn't know she should be telling people.

I’m on my third round at the minute. Testing for ovulation any day now. The first two rounds did result in ovulation but unfortunately no pregnancy. I found the side effects quite extreme the first round but with the last two I have felt fine. Just the odd night sweat. Hope the side effects haven’t been too bad for you xx

Best of luck for this cycle, great news its getting you ovulating. I didnt first round, so hoping I do this time. No noticeable side effects on 50 or 100mg so far which I'm really shot about x

Hi Purpleproject. Always taught that what ever dosage prescribed, it should be for Day 2-6 inclusive, making it 5 days of medication. Diane

Thank you Diane and Noodles, I had called the unit back to confirm and unfortunately spoke to the same nurse who told me yes it's definitely days 2-5. I think I might do 2-6 as I'm sure the consultant said that months ago to me and I don't want to lower my chances.

I took clomid 50mg days 2-6 of my cycle (which was successful ) Good luck hope it works for you xxx
