Spotting during 2ww at 5dp5dt

Hello All,

I noticed a little bit of pink blood when I wiped at 3dp5dt but it was a spot of it and nothing again. Today I went to work and walked a fair amount. When leaving work, I again saw pink blood when I wiped (I’m not 5dp5dt). When I got home after 1.5 hours, I found brown blood. Not lots but a large smear. I’ve been so anxious this tww, hoping I’ve not done anything to ruin it. I know it’s all down to nature, just have to hope but it’s like torture. I tend to spot before my period so very worried it’s that as I’m also cramping quite a bit. Has anyone had anything similar? Thanks for reading

Hi Kiri. Could be irritation from using pessaries if you have been prescribed them. Brown blood is old blood, so hopefully it is clearing up. Drink plenty of water in case you have a bit of infection and keep an eye on your urine output. Cramping can be part of it, so try not to worry too much. Good luck! Diane

Hi Kiri,

I completely understand you. I am in 2WW too and I had my first spot/blood drops on Sunday and since then every day a tiny bit. Nothing much like 2-4 drops. I called the clinic and their advice was – to keep taking the medications as prescribed, avoid Dr.Google, and try to stay positive and test on your OTD. It could be nothing, so there is nothing to worry about. If there is something wrong, nature will do her thing and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. So you can not do anything either way. I am sorry, it’s a bit of s*** advice but that is all I’ve got. I am sorry.

I started spotting after I watched a movie that scared me a few times (not a scary movie) but ‘Captain Philips or something similar’ is a good movie though. I understand that you are feeling anxious, because I am thinking have I ruined my chances of watching a movie that made me jump? Silly right?? In the whole of IVF, I find the 2WW the hardest.

Hi 2ww buddy. It’s amazing how you worry about every single thing and also how you doubt yourself like have I done this right or ruined my chances. I watched a shark thriller movie on my first cycle and had my son so nothing can affect it, like you said it’s down to nature.

I called my clinic as their information note said to do so with spotting which continued today for me. It was still not much but it was light red turning to pink which worried me. I’ve had a little since on wiping but for the time being it has stopped. I’ve had my progesterone tested which was at 58 and the clinic said they like it to be above 80 so I’ve been given lubion injections. Fingers crossed it does the trick and embaby sticks with me.

Thank you. Thank you for sharing your movie experience and that it didn't affect your son. It's funny how our brain works... 2ww is total madness

My spotting is bright red color, but otherwise, I feel fine, with no cramps. So I am still optimistic and positive, with an occasional down moment. I have no pregnancy symptoms, but I haven't had any symptoms with my first pregnancy either. So, I am trying not to be worried.

I’ve found the 2ww torture. I’ve had some cramps but otherwise no symptoms too. 🙏 for us both x
