Funnily enough magpies are the only thing I’m superstitious about.

I keep seeing two but I’m life is pretty rubbish right now 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve decided not to be superstitious of them now. 😂

Take no notice of your one- might be a good sign.

For my first ivf and last 2 FETs I kept seeing one magpie no matter how much I searched for its friend! I actually got quite annoyed by it! I saw 3 flying a couple of days ago and nearly crashed the car in excitement 😂. Hmmm now to think of girl names and close my eyes every time I see a bird incase it’s a lonely magpie ha ha!

Which rhyme are you going with? 2 for mirth 3 for a wedding and 4 for a birth or 2 for joy 3 for a girl and 4 for a boy? The second one seems better for IVF!!

I wasn't really superstitious but heading out to our transfer OH scraped the car leaving the garage and the traffic was awful and I felt the whole thing was getting off to a bad start and wouldn't work. It's funny how you can get so hung up, seeing signs everywhere but it really doesn't mean anything. Good luck xxx

Two for joy, 3 for a girl...

I hate it when I see just one magpie blow it a kiss or salute it, it’s ment to cancel the bad luck out.... I do both lol

This is my magpie story, it turned out one was luck for us. (I posted this a month or so ago). So we went abroad for IVF. Day of transfer we took it easy. Got a taxi back to the hotel and ate utter crap all day and drank fizzy pop (like a child at a party). Next day we flew back to the UK and on our way to the airport (on train) I kept seeing one single magpie by itself at various stages. I pointed this out to my husband as one magpie means ‘one for sorrow’ so I crazily decided the magpie was some sort of friendly magpie and decided to name it Dave (🤷🏼‍♀️). Then when we got back to the UK I constantly saw 1 magpie by itself, EVERYWHERE during the 2ww. Each time I said ‘Hello Dave’ to it. Husband was utterly convinced I was craaaaazy! I refused to test early and spent practically the rest of the 2ww watching boxsets, eating crap food and staying away from google. I took my meds on time and bumbled about the house (as I had leave from work). When test day came I got up early to find Dave, the single magpie in our back garden. Long story short we got our positive and i’m now 24 weeks 😁 Since our transfer I have only seen Dave the one single magpie, by himself, wherever I go. So much so that I have a wide collection of single magpie pictures on my phone. Never more than one and never a group of them! I’m convinced Dave is some kind of guardian angel magpie. Absolutely mad I know but you can’t blame a girl under stress for trying to turn a negative into a positive! Husband laughs when we see a single magpie now and says ‘There’s Dave again, Hello Dave’ 🤣🤣🤣

I love this! My mum always called me a magpie when I was little as I kept shiny things! Even went to the extent of cutting the diamontè of her best bra!!!

Best of luck for you

Omg I do this all the time. I search fir its friend in hope and If I find one I feel relieved! I salute so many when travelling my OH literally laughs at me and I tell him off for not saluting. Yep he thinks I’m bonkers lol x

I was very superstitious back in July and kept seeing them all the time, even when I was on my way to the emergency clinic knowing that it was all over I saw 2. Now when I see them I tell them to p*** off!

Oh my word! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does this!! Whenever I see one single magpie I always salute and say "Hello Mr Magpie!" could be a female for all I know 😂 I've recently seen a lot of pairs so I'm going with '2 for joy' as it gives me a weird kind of hope!!

Baypony, I love your magpie story and huge congratulations 🙌🏻🥰 xx

I must admit i am seeing one magpie loads. I also frantically check for another! I don’t know how true this is but my sister-in-law said that the one magpie thing doesn’t count as long as two people salute it! Just ensure you have someone with you at all potential magpie spotting opportunities and you will be fine! 😜. Xx

I do this all the time! I even live in magpie cottage and bought two magpie badges for luck to put on a lampshade. For the first time ever I saw a group of 4 magpies yesterday and I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant so I rang my OH to say it’s confirmed! It’s a boy! But I always see one and always have to say hello mr magpie how’s your family x

Ha ha ha I read about someone seeing a magpie recently and saw one on its own recently! Completely freaked me out! However the other lady that kept seeing a magpie got her positive.... Baypony think I'm thinking of you and Dave!!😂 xx

It is so funny you wrote this! I never noticed magpies that often in general. I didn’t notice them on my first round of IVF. On my third round of IVF I kept seeing one magpie ALL THE TIME! To the point where I assumed that cycle was doomed! Even when we got our BFP I kept seeing one magpie all the time and was adamant it was going to be a bad sign. We now have happy and healthy 19 month old twin girls.

I recently had a Natural FET and after 18 months of barely seeing any magpies, I started seeing a solitary magpie again! Anyway we got a BFP and since then I have seen so many single magpies. I’m hoping this will be another lucky omen for us again this time!

I always stood by that one was bad bad luck 2 was good luck as it always seemed to be true on the way to the clinic when i had to find out if my follicles were big enough for egg collection or it wouldve been cancelled as they hadnt been growing as they should i saw one magpie was convinced i was going to get bad news at the clinic turned out to be good news despite this im still superstitious if i see them lol

Only another 6 days before I can test!
