After first failed IVF I was left totally devastated but after having a break I am confident to try once more. Has anyone taken aspirin or DHEA?. Do you take them throughout treatment or stop before starting IVF?????. Any recommendations????

Hi Yazlinda, I approached my IVF cycle with dietary supplements to get my whole body and hormone health in balance and at optimum levels (and still continue to take them). Have you considered looking at your diet? Most dietary supplements can be taken continuously, especially prior to starting the treatment - such as VitD, Omega 3, Methylfolate then your clinic can confirm what is ok to continue with throughout your treatment x

I took aspirin with my second (successful) cycle. I also took it whilst trying to conceive naturally after my IVF baby and that was also successful! I took the low dose daily pre treatment/conception and stopped at 13 weeks. I omitted the dose on the day of embryo transfer though. I also stopped it at 6 weeks pregnant in my natural conception due to spotting (GP advice) no idea if it actually helped but my only 2 pregnancies were achieved taking it. Nothing to lose really, I'd say go for it. Xx

Thank you, I will be starting my 2nd cycle in 4 weeks. How soon before treatment did you start taking aspirin? xx

I can't remember exactly as it was in 2016, but I think it was about a week before transfer. Xx

I used aspirin but this was at the request of my clinic to help improve blood flow to my uterus. I also tried DHEA for my natural cycles Im almost positive that it helped me get stronger embryos although we didnt get a BFP. Stop DHEA after egg collection. Have you thought about ubiquinol....its not one that I tried but Ive seen others use it for egg quality. Also my clinic recommend vit D. Look after yourself.xx

I took 75mg low dose aspirin and co-enzyme Q10 at the recommendation of my clinic and I started after egg collection I think. I also took pre-conception supplements by Zita West. You get different supplements for each stage. Im 11 weeks pregnant now, I can't say the supplements definitely made a difference but you never know. Good luck. Xx

Hi, I have started taking Zita West supplements. Not sure when to start the aspirin before treatment or after egg collection. xx

I was told to start aspirin a few weeks before my egg collection, I then had to stop the day before and start again the day after. I am going to be taking them until at least 12 weeks. I am sure your clinic will be able to advise on this if you ask them about it. It was something that my clinic routinely prescribed. x

Get your DHEA tested. I am 43 years old and without testing my dr told me it will improve quality. He was wrong and it costed me 6+ months with a messed up system. DHEA is NOT a one size fits all. It can do more harm than good.

Also high doses of uniquinol, PQQ, NAC, pine bark, and r-lipid acid and melatonin have all been proven to increase egg quality. Watch out for melatonin if you have thyroid issues.
