Been up for scan today and the clinic will be calling this afternoon to let me know when to start my pesseries, do these have to be exactly 12 hours apart as I work 12 hour shifts so thinking of doing one at 6:15 and the other one at 7:15 do you think this is ok.
Also did you have to do them rectally until embryo's had been transferred?

I think that would be absolutely fine. I kept to the 12 hours as much as possible, but an hour either side isn't going to matter. I was told up the normal way! Not rectally, but I think you can do either xx
I reckon that would be fine too. We were told to pick a time and an hour either side would be ok.
I did mine rectally the whole way through but I’ve read on here some clinics are happy for you to switch to vaginally after transfer. Mine weren’t keen but I’m not sure why and I didn’t think to ask why!
Definitely myself! 🙈 I was a bit horrified at the thought at first but honestly it’s fine. No mess like people talk about doing when doing them vaginally and you can go about your day straight away.
Hi. It just says twice a day on the box and so I use one as soon as I get up and one before I go to bed. There are no 12 hr rules.
I started using them vaginally and the when I had some bleeding switched to doing them rectally. For the embryo transfer I just set my alarm super early so it had absorbed by transfer time.
I was really worried about doing it rectally but you don’t actually need to push it up very far. There is no leakage with using rectally but there is vaginally and you need to sit down for a wee while to stop it falling out.
I do usually try to keep mine to around 12hrs apart but more often than not it doesnt alway work like that. I cant think that an hour would make much difference. Its really just to keep a constant input of progesterone. I got told vaginally but if having problems I could swop to rectally for a break.xx
No, its no trouble doing rectally. I dont know if there is a right way for doing this but I found that crouching down and inserting and standing up seems to just draw it up.....weird feeling I cant describe....sorry if that's TMI Lol. You dont have to insert your finger or anything, its easy once you get over the fear of doing the first one and the best bit is there is no mess. Honestly the things we have to do!!xx
I’ve been in a foul mood all day but this thread has given me the giggles. I do a weird little cowboy walk after inserting mine. For no reason whatsoever because they’re not uncomfortable, I just did it the first time and now I can’t stop 😂😂
Ha this thread made me chuckle too 🤣. I have done them rectally with no probs for my last 2 cycles, after struggling with them causing irritation (and mess) using then vaginally on my first cycle. I was really freaked out initially but was relieved by how easy and mess free it is! Now there’s no looking back for me 🤣 xx
I have always been advised to try keep to the 12 hours. You could see what ur clinic think about the hour difference. Enjoy they lovely ☺️ nah it fine once u get used to it indeed Take care xx
I was told to do mine rectally all the way through. They have a waxed coating so are very easy to insert, I too was worried about administering them but you will honestly be fine. I had to administer 3 a day and the nurse just said morning, evening and whenever you can fit another one in at your convenience. You will imagine the surprise I got on egg collection day when the consultant 'popped one in' while I was still in theatre. Lol 😉
Hiya,i aimed to do them every 12 hours but was sometimes out by an hour or two which clinic said beforehand was fine. We were told to do them rectally up to transfer then it was personal prefence but I started with rectally. Good luck!! X
Thank you, my hubby asked nurses when they called this afternoon and they said should really be 12 hours apart but they said I need to aim to be as close to the 12 hours
