NHS funded cycle

Hi, I wonder if anyone could advise me on the nhs funded cycle. I have done three self funded cycles and haven’t worked. I have finally been referred by Nhs and I might get a free treatment.

My question is whether I will be able to decide when to start? My job only allows me to take time off in December/January and July/August. Will I be able to choose the time?

Previously, I could decide when to start so I can fit with work. Would it be the same if I use nhs service?

Hi Jenny,

I’m under the NHS. Basically, if you want to delay your treatment to a date that suits (after the slot they offer you), I think you’ll be fine, but they wouldn’t bring it forward if that makes sense! So depending on your clinics waiting list, you might have to add a few months delay if you’ve just missed one of those periods of annual leave x

Hi, I am NHS funded and they have let me decide when to start. I just call on the first day of the cycle I want to start on. Good luck! X

Yes, they leave you to start when is suit you and with the scan appointments you can not change but can ask for an hour that is good for you if they have available xxx good luck

Hi Jenny. Yes, as the others are saying, you usually get to decide when to start. Good luck! Diane

Thank you everyone. My worst fear was that when I moved to the top of waiting list and if I couldn’t take it, I would be put to the back of the waiting list again. If they could reserve the place for me, that’s fine. Thanks for the advice. I am feeling much better now.

I was able to start when I wanted. They are pretty good at most clinics.
