Could anyone tell me please is it a straight foward procedure putting your egg back in? I was told it is just like having a smear but i have also read you can be under anesthetic? But why would you need to be.. confused

When I've had my little blastocysts popped back in its been no bother, just like a smear. The only uncomfortable part was having a full bladder and the nurse pressing the ultrasound wand on it lol xxxx

Ok sounds ok then, thanks 🙂 xx

Mine was really straightforward, just like a smear test, no pain at all.

Make sure you do have a nice full bladder though. That’s how the surgeon gets a good clear picture of where they are placing the embryo x

Thank you xx

It's so super quick and straightforward, you will be asked of you want to see the blastocyst on a screen to take photos. I was speechless when we saw our only one that made it to the stage, it was so surreal!

For me it was more intense mentally than physically xx

Ah wow, thanks xx

Definitely make sure your bladder is full enough, mine wasn't and I ended up having it filled by catheter which was very unpleasant! I had a more uncomfortable transfer this time round but it's been successful so I would do it all over again 👍🏼 Best of luck x

Omg filled by catheter???? I would have thought you’d have to just drink more and wait for half an hour?! I’m normally the other way... it gets so full then they are usually late and I have to keep popping to the loo to do small wees 🤣

It was horrendous I'll be honest! I did ask if I couldn't just have a little drink but they had to keep to their schedule 🤷🏽‍♀️ Never mind, all worth it x

in reply toKitcat12

My bladder is always full so i think i will be ok, and congratulations 🙂 its all worth it xx

Agree with others, it’s fine hun. Although I didn’t need a full bladder for mine to be put back in, didn’t have an ultrasound 🤔 Guess different clinics have different ways! It was amazing to see our little blob on the screen and have it transferred in - hope yours goes well xxx

in reply toNovice_knitter

Ahh must be different then, but it worked congratulations 🙂 xxx

No sedation here either, but seen online that some clinics (seem to be mainly in America??) give mild sedation as the uterus needs to be completely relaxed. I found it quick, painless and just like a smear (they used a speculum). Hope yours goes well! xx

in reply toShelleybean

Thank you, sounds like it will be fine then🙂 xx

It was fine for me and I even saw them plant the embryo into my uterus ready to settle and attach and that’s just what she did .... ❤️ You’ll be fine... nice walk after as well, let nature take its course etc. Good luck x
