Baseline scan for short protocol.

Hello ladies

I have been on norethisterone for 10 days and my period arrived Friday but it’s gone already?? I have a baseline scan tomorrow to start short protocol. I am really worried that my lining will be too thick as the period was extremely light. Does this matter much for short protocol? I know they want to check for cysts but not sure about lining. Thanks so much!

Hi Jay,

I’m on Day 7 of the short protocol and had my baseline scan on day 3. I didn’t take the Norethisterone though.

Anyhoo, at my baseline scan my consultant said that as long as my lining was 5mm or below, that this was fine to proceed. I never have a a heavy period, quite light and for about 2 days max, and my lining is always thin during and after period, I know we are all different though.

Hi,

Did you just start straight away when your period came with stimulation drugs? I am trying to find a clinic which does this and doesn't put you on norethisterone or other drugs beforehand.

Yep, started my cycle when my period arrived naturally.

This is my third fresh cycle now, was put on the pill for a month before the first fresh, then nothing for the second and third.

I don’t think it makes much difference to a cycle apart from simply allowing a clinic to be able to control when your bleed / period will arrive. That’s my understanding of it anyway.
