Hello I’ve had such confusing and conflicting info about the temperatures I need to keep my injections at. Can anyone help me...
I’ve been told that I need to keep the Gonal F pen in the fridge until it’s first use. And then after it’s first use it can be kept at room temperature until it’s finished. I need to use each pen three times. Is this correct? Or can it be at room temperature before first use?
I’m not even sure if I am writing this question clearly?

Hi SimsB, I’ve just started Gonal F, I’m on 375iu in the am. I can get 2 injections from one 900iu pen to do two mornings and for the third morning I have to make a note of the number left on the pen and then set the new pen to that number to complete the injection - if that makes sense? If you are on 300iu per day a pen should do three injections no problem. No one said anything to me about storage in a fridge though so not sure about that side of things...all the best - hope it’s not too stressful for you and it works well. X
I think it can be kept out of the fridge for up to 3 months from looking at the info from the manufacturer online. There should be a leaflet inside the box that will clarify. Good luck xxx
When I receive my gonal f and trigger shot they come in a polystyrene box with cool blocks inside it and I was told they need to go straight into the fridge the leaflet that comes with it says the same good luck tho everyone’s information for them seems to be different xxx
As long as stored below 25 degrees (I’m in north Scotland, probably why they didn’t tell me to refrigerate) but popped them in fridge since it’s going to be warm here tomorrow! Thanks for asking.
As long as they're in a relatively cool, dark place (i.e. not direct sunlight) they're fine out of the fridge for 3 months. Once a pen has been used it's good for another 28 days, and you can use it as many times as needed (with a new needle each time of course).
Hello, I always kept all injections in the fridge and I always responded well to the drugs! The number of injections depends on the dosage that has been given to you!!
