We are starting our first round of IVF on (all being well) 3rd September, originally told we had to wait until Feb 2020 to start due to funding and waiting times in wales and then had a call out of the blue last month to say we were scheduled in....Im a nervous wreck about the whole process!!!
Anyone starting their first round of ... - Fertility Network UK
Anyone starting their first round of IVF in September?
We are due to start in October. Was at the hospital yesterday for further blood tests and a scan. We are in Scotland Good luck!
We are due to start our first round in October. I’m beginning to feel nervous about it all too!
We have an appt to meet with nurse next week - so it is all starting to feel quite real!!!
We are also based in Scotland.
We are starting this month and are on the long protocol. I'm starting my Buserelin injections tomorrow. Its definitely starting to feel real now but I'm just trying to take it a step at a time. It helps me not to think too far in the future. Good luck to everyone.
I'm in South Wales. Starting my second ivf-icsi round in September - October although we're having to self fund. Good luck! X
Hello I just got booked to start my second round (first round cancelled before egg collection) on the 27th of August, well that should be first scan and begin stimming. Its completely normal to be nervous, I think I'm worse this time actually!
Do you know if you are on th elong or short protocol?
xx
Hi,Sorry for the looong delay in getting back to you, we are on the short protocol i think....im finding the whole thing hard to take in if that makes sense. So much information and then just day to day stuff i dont know if im coming or going.
How did you get on,hope everything went ok at the scan for you.xx
It did! Thanks!! I’m on track this time! How are you getting on??
Thats great news I start the norethisterone for 10 days starting tomorrow taking 3 tablets a day then booked in for baseline scan on the 16th all being well we'll start the menopur the following day - Im on 4 powders a day if that makes sense?!
I’m on day 9 of menopur so I’ve got another scan tomorrow to plan when egg collection is going to be. I just need my follicles to get a bit bigger they were only 12 mm yesterday. Keep your fingers crossed for me
I’m actually not sure what 4 powders a day is haha. I’m on 225 units of menopur a day...
I’ve found the norethisterone rougher side effect wise than the injections. So I hope you’ll get on with it better than me.
Good luck!!
Xxx
Congratulations, we are starting our first round on the 27th, so i feel just like you x
It's exciting but terrifying all at the same time isnt?!I had this ridiculous notion that it was only me who felt the way i did and its so reasurring to know that well it isnt, we all seem to ahve the same fears and joining this forum has helped so much All the luck in the world with your cycle and i hope everything goes well for you xx
Same to you hun. Its all feeling a bit wierd at the moment, going to try and take each day as it comes and not expect too much. Easier said than done i know! Hoping it all works out for everyone. Think its the injections im dreading the most 😬xx
Yep cant say i'm looking forward to those either....Been told to alternate thighs and stomach im going to be doing two injections a night and then from day 12 adding a morning injection of ceterolix (i think thats its name) xx
Oh god thats loads 😬, good luck with those i hope they arent too bad and its all over quickly! I though you only had a one or two for 12 days, maybe it differs between clinics? We dont have our first apppointment till 27th so i dont know what ill have to have yet xx
I know i thought one little injection and that would be it, but nope not so lucky!Think it depends on the dose they give you dependant on the finidings from the million tests you have to have.Im currently building myself up for a practice go.....You dont have much longer to wait the 27th will be here before you know it xx
Congratulations!
I’m hopefully starting my first ivf cycle in October, having my first consultation on Friday so it will be confirmed then 😊
All the best, will have everything crossed for you i did find that bit exciting when you get to have all your dates confirmed etc...It seems real then xx
We are on our first round this month too. Started buserelin last month and stims this week. EC hopefully end of next week 🤞🏼. I was very nervous too but have to say the injections are nowhere near as bad as I thought they’d be! I think the mental side of IVF is harder with the waiting. Good luck with your cycle that’s great that they could bring it forward by so much. Hope all goes well for you. 🙏🏼
Sending positive thoughts your way and have evrything crossed for you.Glad to hear the injections arent so bad
I would agree the mental side of it is exhausting, i feel like a pressure cooker set to burst - Ive opted for some counselling to help me through the cycle, im somebody who has to be in control so this is pushing me waaayyyy out of my comfort zone haha.xx
Hi Vicky! Congratulations on your first cycle. I think that this is the hardest one as you don't know what to do for sure and don't know what stones may appear on your way. The only advice is to listen to the doctor's recommendations and keep calm. For somebody, it may be not an easy thing but still, try not to worry much, especially during the 2ww stage it may have bad impact on the embryo and you. Be blessed hun!
Hiya we are due to phone the hospital on Sept 17th on the first day of my period to start our first IVF cycle (on the NHS). I am excited but nervous at the same time. I am anxious about what medication I will be on and I am hoping to do injections rather than pessaries if I get the option because they seem to be really messy from what I have read so far. Have you started your IVF cycle yet?
Morning! So we started on the 3rd September with 5mg Norethisterone 3 times daily and our baseline scan is monday. All being well will start the injections on the tuesday (17th) ill be having Menopur 4 vilals so two injections per day (day 1 -12) and then on also introducing cetroelix x 1 injection from day 8 - 12 - Then all being well and crossing everything egg collection will be wc 30/09.Then the pessaries start....OH JOY!!I agree i am not looking forward to those and for 6 weeks too if we get a Positive that is!!!But if its what i have to do then so be it, hopefully the end result will be worth it I think its completely normal to be nervous, i was and still am its the fear of the unknown isnt it?!But you will be fine and once you are armed with all the info on what drugs etc... you'll be on the worry will subside.I hope it all goes well for you :)xx
