Just heard from our embryologist, so seems out of the 5 embryos 2 have divided as they should. One is 6 cells and the other is 8 cells.
Both excellent quality but am worried they are not same amount of cells as read if very different they can work against each other.
It is our decision if we want a double transfer today but the embryologist agreed given our history that only ever got pregnant from a double then that would be the wisest thing to do.
We of course risk losing one or both of we grow them to 5 days.
Unfortunately the other 3 are showing signs of fragmentation and have not grown since yesterday. 😕
I won’t lie am sitting here in tears as I know in my heart we cannot go through all this again and was hoping to god we had as many as possible. Disappointed none to freeze but have to remember I have never got pregnant from a single FET anyway only from a double 3day transfer so let’s hope that pattern continues 🙏🏻🤞🏼🍀

Hi hope, it’s great that you’ve got two quality embryos ready for transfer, try not to get too upset (easier said than done I know). As everyone says “it only takes one” and you’ve got two going back where they belong today.
Hello hope, are you going for a transfer today then?
I've searched online for hours yesterday and did come across some studies saying that the difference between day 3 and day 5 is that at day 5 the embryologist can see better which embryos is the best quality
In terms of implantation rate it's appx the same. ( Another study said the opposite, though)
So if you had many to choose from , blastocyst stage is better as you can transfer the best one. Therefore better implantation rate but not because it's a blastocyst mostly because it's the best embryo.
That's what the research says...but a lot of contradictory opinions...
Also some clinics saying they only do day 5 transfer ( I suspect this is for stats reasons TBH)
Hi, yes we are going in for transfer this afternoon.
I know what you mean, so many contradictory stuff online with regards to studies.
We have to go with our history and @ 39 we had a BFP (live birth) as a result from a 3DT and same again when I was 42 (MC) . I have discussed in detail with my partner and we feel as I have never got pregnant from 2 single FETs ... day 5 blasts then we have nothing to lose.
The embryologist also agrees right decision so we have to believe and go for it 😀
Thanks so much for your advice, gutted our other 3 didn’t make it as if they did we would have had some to grow to 5 days x
This journey is so full of ups and downs on the one hand you are happy with good quality but on the other it’s so upsetting not having any to freeze completely natural to feel like that xx
Thanks for your kind words so sorry you have had 3 BFNs are these all from single transfers ? I just wondered if you had tried a double ? I know doesn’t increase your chances but in my case it has helped in the past to get a BFP x
I haven’t tried a double yet but the doctor has said he’s happy for us to. I worry there’s something wrong with me and doing a double will just waste 2 if that makes sense? I think if this next one doesn’t work it’ll definitely be something else to try xx
I feel anything is worth a shot, I know what you mean about wasting them as I felt like that today when heard only 2 . I just feel as single transfers never worked for me then have to take this chance and go with double x
Masses of luck. I have never managed enough to freeze so don’t beat yourself up about that, we’ve only ever managed to just get enough for transfer. They sound in great shape and I wish you loads of luck 🤞🏻🤞🏻xx
Awwww thanks so much, we have always managed 1 to freeze but as my Partner reminds me it’s a waste of time for us since they have never worked... I am also thinking would hate to be in a predicament where we had any left and didn’t know what to do with them. It is meant to be am sure 🙏🏻
Hey, getting two good ones is great news. I hope things go smoothly for you. Go for the transfer with a positive mindset. Make sure to lock away all the negativity. I hope things work out. Good luck to you. Sending baby dust your way.
Oh no, the disappointment knocks it out of you! Well done on having two great one to transfer though! Very excited for you! The ups and downs are so hard, unhappiness and disappointment mixed with gratitude and hope..just try and let go of what could’ve been now and focus on the two great ones you have! I know It’s no easy, I cried all day after I only got one, but yet it was strong enough to make it to day 5. Have big hope for your two going in today! Try and relax before your transfer and look forward.xxx
Thanks so much, feeling much better and reminding myself 2 is better than none. Am luckier than some but when your thinking it’s your last shot well the pressure you pile on yourself is immense! Your kind words are helping. Am leaving in 1 hour so away to do my Zita West post transfer
Hi Hope, please, don't cry! It may have a bad influence on your state and future transfer. You still have two embryos that may work out so please, don't lose your hope beforehand. I had my FER with the only one frozen embryo and it ended with bfp so you have at least two chances to conceive. Faith makes wonders, dear. Will be keeping everything crossed for you! Baby dust. Waiting for your updates
