Hey everyone. Advice please! I’m 3dp5dt and have my OTD of 31st July - 10 days after my transfer. The only thing is, I’m due to go to Cologne the next day after OTD. It’s a family trip abroad for a few days and I don’t want to fly at all if I’m pregnant so I won’t go, which is fine I just need to see what everyone else thinks of when to test ??
It’s literally the day before so it gives me no time to make excuses to work and to my Family (who don’t know about the IVF) / pack etc! The Trip was booked ages ago! I know there’s a reason you have to test on the specific day I just want to hear everyone’s experiences.
Trigger is out of my system-tested negative twice yesterday and today (2dp5dt and 3dp5dt) to check that it was out of my system. When did everyone test ?? Early results etc? I need your help/advice!! X x

I got a very strong positive on the evening of 9dpt after weeing all day! 😄 if I had tested on day 6 or 7 I’m sure there would have been a line there even if faint.
However I have heard of BFP not showing until day 10 or 11 so it’s a difficult one. I suppose all you can do is test early (from day 6 or 7) if that’s what you want to do. The earliest that a BFP can realistically show up is day 5 as before that there won’t be any HCG released from the placenta. Of course it’s best to use a FRER.
Thank you lovely! I know it’s the day for a reason and I understand that it’s just in case!
Eek so so hope this time is positive whenever it is!! Yes definitely I’ve got a couple of First Response ones. What a rollercoaster hey. Thanks Hun xxx
My two positives that both ended in miscarriage, 1 showed 7dp5dt and the other 12d5dt on FRER. Its hard to know when to start testing, the main reason being is if you get a negative it can be so disheartening and tough to keep going. I think the only cycles I didnt test early were my NHS ones because I started bleeding early. Good luck with what you decide.xx
Thanks so much hun. I know people go abroad for treatment and have to fly home before their OTD so I suppose it would Be ok 11 days after if it was negative it’s just so hard to ever know these things and of course as per with IVF nothing is ever plannable nor able to schedule anything! I totally agree I was broken hearted and totally gave up after my early negative tests even though it was only the 5% chance I had but still I went into a deep depression after it!!! Xxx
I flew after my treatment....I have treatment abroad and know a lot of ladies that have flown for work after successful treatments. It is hard to know what to do, you just have to be comfortable with your decision I guess. Good luck.xx
Yeh that’s true, I just would feel so anxious I think. But it’s so hard to know what to do for the best! That’s being very presumptuous though I am getting ahead of myself 😬 X x x
I tested 6dp5dt and got my positive. Best of luck x
I got both my bfp's at 7dp5dt. I'm now 7w3d pregnant and I am due to go away in Friday. There is no recommendation to avoid flying in early pregnancy but you must do what you feel comfortable doing. Good luck!!
I’ve got another holiday to Spain 26th August so I’ll go on that if I am I just am too nervous to chance not even being a week pregnant and flying. Thanks so much, and of course congratulations !! Amazing news. X x x
I flew to the US 11dp5dt so even though my OTD was supposed to be day 13 I ended up having to move it to 9 days post transfer (long story in which my clinic told me they’d do blood test then changed their minds 😂)
I tested the day before on day 8 and got an obvious positive.
Agreed about no evidence of risk with flying - my consultant had no issue with me flying (I had to take blood thinning injections with it being long haul) but if you’d rather not then don’t. It was my sister’s wedding so I wasn’t going to cancel but I did feel anxious about it. Good luck! x
Fair do’s I wouldn’t want to miss that, valid reason! Congratulations!! Hope everything is going well. Yeh I would prefer not to just for peace of mind really can’t put a price on that especially after struggling for so long! Thanks for the advice lovely X x
No worries. All the best with the rest of your pregnancy. Quite a while ago now for me as little boy is now 14 months old.
Being away definitely took my mind off things a bit whilst waiting for my 7 week scan but I know what you mean, it’s how you’d feel if anything went wrong even if logic told you it wasn’t anything you’d done. xx
I wish I was pregnant! sorry to give the wrong impression! It’s because I’m saying just in case I am I have the holiday the next day so when did anyone else get a positive result - if they did - when was it. My original test date isn’t until a week today. X x
Aw sorry! I did know that when I replied to the post originally but then forgot your situation🤦🏻♀️
Got my fingers crossed for you for next week. Like I said, I got a definite positive 8dp5dt but I think if it’s negative at that point it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t turn positive over the few days after that xx
Of course, I mean I’m being very presumptuous that it may be positive. There’s only 20% chance that it will be positive of course but it was just when everyone else’s was. It was just to see when everyone else’s positive was. I would be too nervous if I was. I think it’s just I’ll have to see what happens I may not need to make the decision 😩😩 fingers crossed. X x x
