Can you get extra tests done at a different clinic??

Hi everyone,

I’m gearing up for my 3rd transfer!

I want (as we all do, every time) to throw everything at this one.

I was wondering if anyone has/if it’s even possible to, have extra tests done at a different clinic to the one you have IVF through??

I’m starting acupuncture next week and they’ve asked for various test results, a couple of which I know I haven’t had. Also after reading a few ladies posts about finding out they had low progesterone, I’d really like to get this tested when the time comes.

I know my clinic won’t be willing to do any additional tests so am willing to pay and go privately for them if that’s even possible, but I guess then I’d need one of the hospitals to prescribe any drugs if the tests threw up a need for them. Advice welcomed! Xx

Yes, I paid for my AMH at a private hospital. They had a range of different fertility blood tests. I showed the results to my nhs clinic and they were happy to take the results into account.

Perfect! I wasn’t sure if private clinics would let me ‘cherry pick’ a few tests without being treated there so that’s great to know. Thanks x

They had a list of individual tests or a couple of packages you could choose if you needed a few different tests. Hope you get some answers. xxx
