Not totally sure I have but I was just wondering what tests can be done to see what went wrong or if it can be prevented.. I know it can be just one of these things that happen but I would like to explore all my options and my fertility clinic kind of just tell you what they are doing and because I don’t really know what am talking about or didn’t think I would have any issues I didn’t think I would need to ask about these but I would like to be prepared next time I see them if it turns out I have mc

I am so sorry for your loss. I also miscarried at 9 weeks....which was horrendous.
Did you have PGS testing? The main reason for miscarriage is genetically abnormal embryos xx
I’m not sure I don’t think so, I have unexplained infertility and I have only turned 25 I got 27 embryos 19 fertilised then 11 survived so I don’t think they done anything I think they thought I had high odds of being fine
Hi there, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the lupus anticoagulant and anti-cardiolipin antibodies blood test (test for sticky blood) as well
as thyroid stimulating hormone blood tests to see if anything may have contributed. They came back fine, and as a result my consultant said it is most likely chromosomal abnormalities. These tests are normally done after 3 or more miscarriages on the NHS but luckily my private clinic did offer them, when I had 1 miscarriage. xx
Glad everything came back normal and sorry for your loss it’s a horrible thing, I will mention this to them and see what they say, I hope it’s just a one off and don’t need to deal with this again
Hi Italy300618 - Sorry to jump in here but do you know how much all the tests cost? We're about to have the same tests done even though I've 'only' had one MC. We have one embryo left so I don't want to take the wait and see approach on this. Thanks! x
No problem at all, it cost 170 in total for the two. I'm sorry to hear you had a MC 😥 I think they are good tests to have to rule out anything just in case xx
Thank you! I read somewhere that they could be around £2k which would have been a struggle. X
I think those are the natural killer cells tests, where they send it off to America. They are v expensive xx
Hey lovely,
I completely understand how you’re feeling. I had an early mc on my first ivf cycle and it’s devastating. I know you’re going to want to know why, it’s only natural to feel that way and I wish I could give you an definitive answer but the most likely one is it was a chromosomal issue with the egg. It’s the reason for most losses at this early stage, from natural or ivf pregnancies. Absolutely nothing you did could have changed it, it’s just one of those shitty shitty things but just because it happened once, does not mean it will happen to you again. You have every chance that the next time it will be a happy and healthy pregnancy.
Sending you a big hug xxxx
I’m so sorry this happened to you 💔
I don’t have any advice on testing, but I do have a good news story in that my friend miscarried her first IVF transfer but went on to have a successful pregnancy with a 2nd frozen transfer and her little boy was born in October.
Keep positive and good luck for your next transfer x
Hey beautiful. Sorry for your loss i know exactly how tou feel i also just had a failed ICSI two weeks ago , at least you managed to reach BFP.
I made a massive research of what can be done to investigate , not sure if there’s more to do
Here are the list of test , but please note thay some of them related to embryos that don’t stick and I guess you do not need them as urs sticked.
-Comet test for sperm as if the DNA in sperm is damaged this can cause implantation failure or miscarriage.
-karyotyping done to rule out genetic problems.....could you perhaps look at karyotyping? The only other thing I can suggest if you havent tried it is steriod cover for NK cells
-PGS
-C4M2 gene mutation
thyroid tests will reveal a lot more. (Make sure they test TSH, TPO antibodies, free T4& free T3 at thevery least. TgAB antibodies also if possible)
-DNA fragmentation
-hysteroscopy
-down regulation
-monitor and check Progesterone levels
-the EMMA/ERA/ALICE test.
-NK cells
