Just wanted to say that after so much anxieties and worries about staring IVF, my first week of injections has been very easy!
The injections are not painful at all, and are easy to do. My partner is in charge of them and it makes us feel closer and gives him some purpose/ responsibilities in a process that is making men feel a bit powerless
No significant side effects apart from some hot flushes one day and bad sleep , oh and sometimes headaches..and a massive bloated belly ahah
Just wish someone had posted a positive story about it weeks ago!
One week scan is tomorrow to assess my follicules
Of course I'm well aware that this is only week 1 but wanted to reassure any other ladies worried sick like I was that's it's not so bad ! Well at least for me
I also think that he intra muscular injections will be painful.
PS: I have deep infiltrated endometriosis

Everyone’s experiences are different and lots of people incur various problems and issues during ivf, not just the first week. So for each positive story there will be a less than, just means each individual adapts differently. Whether or not you or your partner are administering the drug, it is how you both connect and your relationship progresses in the cycle.
Nearly every person on this site is very positive during their posts and the hardships of ivf it is not easy at all, these forums support that. Glad you are sailing through! X
That's so great you're off to a good start. I also found the stims stage better than I thought it would be, although pretty bloated and tender abdomen and sore boobs during the last few days of it. I think you'll find that for most of us the psychological torture of the two week wait is worse than any physical symptoms during stims. Good luck with the scan tomorrow, hope all those follicles are growing well xxx
I agree with others below everyone has different experiences and pain threshold.
I felt like you during my cycle and actually didn’t mind the injections. But I’m a nurse and I guess that fear factor disappeared long ago.
However, the progesterone injections were definitely not pleasant as the pain lingered. It helped warming them up prior to injecting. So if you’re ever heading down that root definitely inject in the upper quadrant of the buttock and just run some warm water over the ampule for a few seconds or gently rub them between your hands. And massage massage massage!! Makes life so much easier.
The staff at the clinic should be demonstrating to either the patient or their significant other how to inject. I think generally people do okay once they are shown. I can imagine some people choosing areas that may be more painful because some clinics may do a quick demo or none at all.
Really glad things are going well so far - and no reason why that won’t continue! As Crisps says everyone’s experiences are different and there is no reason why you won’t be the person who finds it super easy the whole way through and has great success! I’ve always found the physical aspect ok to deal with it’s been the mental rollercoaster I’ve struggled with but sounds like you have great support from your OH. Good luck! x
Really glad the symptoms are not too bad for you, must be a relief, sounds like you have really been through it with the chronic endo pain!
Glad to hear all is going well and hope it continues that way. we are doing my first injection on Sunday eve. Just want to get the 1st one out the way 🙌👌 X
That’s good to know !! I start mine in August been so nervous about it all where do you inject them ? How long does the bloat last do you know ? Is the scan when your on your period ? Xx
