Fearing the worst! 😞

Meditationconvert profile image
β€’36 Replies

So today is 6 weeks pregnant - got a high BFP 2 weeks ago with 4th Ivf cycle (this one FET with 2 good quality 5d Blastocysts.

In general all has been good. Progesterone was low on day of beta blood test but meds increased and progesterone checked a week later and levels were really good. I've had no spotting or anything and just waiting on scan on 15th July and then tonight about 7pm went for a Wee and when wiped bright red on tissue 😞😞

I've had cramping since all night and it's definitely not spotting. I need a pad and initially there were small bits of clots. I don't know if both Embies stuck and I'm now fearing worst that it's all over and maybe being paranoid but feel as though symptoms less noticeable I. E. Sore BBs.

This IVF life is bloody bloody hard! I'm going to call fertilty clinic first thing but some positive stories might help me calm down a bit! This was our last shot. 😞

Get in touch with your local epu. There can be many reasons for bleeding and they can check / do an early scan. They usually don't worry too much unless the bleeding continues or you have enough blood to fill a pad in an hour.

Symptoms do come and go - that I'd perfectly normal.

Good luck and big hugs to you xx

Could be a number of things. My experience was threatened miscarriage so I had bed rest for two weeks after being informed at 7 week scan. Call consultant and/or EPU and try resting x

Thank you, cramps still there but bleeding tailed off. Clinic advised bed rest and let them know over next 24 hours.

Hope you’re feeling better. Forgot to say... that my threatened miscarriage never happened and she’s 5 months old now x

It is definitely not easy. I had two embies implanted just over 4 years ago. Last chance. 6 weeks in I had big bleed, but amazingly one of them hung on and I have a very active 3 year old boy. It is hard to e positive, but hope this helps a little. X

This is so scary, but do try not to assume the worst. I know that's really hard but it's amazing what embryos can survive. I had bleeding throughout weeks 5-8 of pregnancy, mostly brown but a few gushes of bright red as well. I also had 2 embryos transferred and I'm currently 9+4 with one baby. Definitely contact your EPU they will be able to scan you to put your mind at rest. Hopefully it's good news for you lovely x

Ah bless you. I agree with what everyone else has said. I've heard of lots of people bleeding and having cramps and all has been ok so fingers crossed it will be for you too x good luck with EPU/fertility clinic xx

Thank you so much 😊

I'm sorry you're going through this! I know how worried you must be, but try to think positive. It's amazing what embryos can survive. I'm 7 weeks pregnant after FET#2 we also had 2 embryos transferred. I've been having spotting since week 4, mostly brownish but sometimes bright red as well. Definitely contact your EPU or doctor they will be able to scan you to put your mind at rest.

I had my scan at 6w, I saw 2 tiny heartbeats!

Hopefully we have some good news too!!

xx

Thank you 😊 clinic advised bed rest and keep an eye I've next 24 hours. Bleeding has tailed off and now just pink when I wipe after loo but still have lower abdominal cramps.

Thank you I'm more concerned at the cramping. Really low down abdomen and definitely noticeable! Not the Red blood anymore but pink when wipe TMI! πŸ™„ I do know there's nothing I can do but try and relax, it's so bloody difficult though.

Thanks again for words of reassurance 😊

Lots of good advice above, I hope things settle, keep us posted on how you get on!

I wanted to ask if the clinic decided to transfer two or if you decided, and why? Really interested to hear how people decide on one vs two, I had my egg collection just yesterday...

Meditationconvert profile image
Meditationconvertβ€’ in reply toMontsJ

Thank you I will. We decided on 2 as this is our 4th round of IVF, FET using Donor eggs and is our last shot. We still have 3 Embryos in the freezer but we decided we probably couldn't do it again after this one. Financially and emotionally it's a roller coaster. We had treatment abroad so added costs. We discussed transferring 2 with our fertility doctor and agreed as last shot we would although they are quite strong on transferring in general 1 at a time.

Good luck with your journey and hope the egg collection went well and you're not too uncomfortable. Our very first ivf cycle tried using my own eggs but it was never going to work. πŸ™„ So we took time out and decided on the Donor Route

I know of ladies who have had heavy bleeds and have turned out to be absolutely fine xxxx hang on in there xxxx

Meditationconvert profile image
Meditationconvertβ€’ in reply toScarlett13

Thanks 😊 clinic didn't seem overly concerned as the bleeding and spotting stopped last night and nothing since. Just trying to stay as relaxed and positive as possible. It just makes you so anxious when you see it πŸ™„

Oh dear it’s really worrying... I am 6+4 and had a scan on Sat all looked fine but like you today blood on wiping after an initial gush and my nausea has gone and low abdo pains.... going to rest it out and get referred to an epu tomorrow.

Good luck to you xx

Meditationconvert profile image
Meditationconvertβ€’ in reply toSBeanbag

I hope you're OK and things have settled down? I've not had any bleeding or spotting at all since early last night and cramping has reduced. Trying to stay positive and relaxed but it's tough isn't it? Sending you positive vibes.

Thankyou x my symptoms settled eventually but I had a scan at the EPU this afternoon and all was well. They were relaxed about it all too so hopefully you’ll take comfort in that, best wishes for your wait for a scan x

No more bleeding or spotting at all since early evening last night so trying to stay positive. Clinic not too concerned and if things settle don't need to see me until scan on 15th which is a lifetime away!

Thanks for the support 😊
