When to test?

Just wondered about this anomoly. Exactly last year my clinic, following a fresh transfer told me to test 14 days after transfer. They made a big thing of getting false negatives and said this was the best time to test. This time round they've told us to test on day 9. For me that's 20th of May. I will have to do a blood test on this day. Does anyone know why the wait has suddenly become shorter?

The bloods on day nine are a bit more sensitive as the hCG is detected in your blood stream before it would go into your urine so that's probably why they are doing your bloods and earlier. My clinic usually say bloods on day 9 or urine on day 12.....however if I get a negative urine they make me retest on day 14 just to be sure.xx

Hi Rainbowhpe. Might be to do with how advanced your embryo was when transferred - 3 or 5 day. Check with the clinic if your're not sure. Good luck! Diane
