So I went for my first scan today. Seventh day of injections on short protocol and I have responded better than expected.
My EC is now on Thursday at 7.30am. Same day as a concert I booked 10 months ago. I still want to go, it’s seated and I’ve had anaesthesia lots of times before and been absolutely fine.
Am I being stupid, should I just cancel and not go...it’s the amazing Take That if the brilliance of the band are a deciding factor 😂 x

I was really sore and groggy after my EC. I definitely wouldn’t have been up to going to a concert but then everyone is different. My advice would be to give it a miss (and I know how amazing Take That are live) it’s really up to you though. Xx
I came home rested up for a few hours and then attended a wedding reception party later in the evening which I also debated cancelling, so glad I didn’t.
No I did not hit the dance floor or drink alcohol but I still enjoyed the evening out. I usually suffer from extreme period pain... but the cramping I felt after EC wasn’t half as bad.
I’m going to try my best to go. I realised I didn’t disclose in the post that I’m going to have to go to Liverpool for it (from Glasgow) think I can nap on the train😊
It is so hard not knowing but having had my EC today, if I had a take that concert tonight I’d be going. I’m tender but if you can sit you will be fine! I think I have my transfer on Saturday and I’m off to the cinema to see the final night. I saw them in bham last month, you will love it!! Enjoy!
I always see take that when they tour so I’d be gutted to miss them. My best friend and I like to see them in different places and so it’s Liverpool this time for us (I’m planning a nap on the train if I can make it) x
I could have gone to a concert no bother! I think depending on how many follicles they go into might depend on how sore you are. Seems a shame to cancel if you think you could manage!! I would say go and enjoy yourself!xx
Ha I dont have injections....such a bonus!🙌🏻 I'm doing ok, just on HRT patches and HRT tablets. Things seem to be going ok so far thanks!🤞🏻 All the best for egg collection!!xx
If you go straight to bed when you get home and rest for a few hours, I think you should be ok to go. I was invited to a birthday party the night after my EC, I didn’t go in the end but I did feel fine, I probably could of went but was too comfy on the couch 😂
Hey, so personally I was doubled over with pain! I think it was down to having 21 eggs collected tho. And was defo having what I believe was mild ohss. But everyone is different so play it by ear! Itl be nice to have something fun to do! xx
Thank you so much. I think all your advice has made me realise I just need to go with the flow and see how I feel. At least I don’t have to recover fast for a transfer as any I get are going into the freezer for a natural FET in a month or 2🤞 x
Same! And was a blessing my body would not of coped being pregnant! I was gutted I was a freeze all but with the pain! I was absolutely fine in the clinic up eating drinking, it’s an 1.5 hour drive home got in and boom! I was like it for 2-3 days. Really hope u just bounce up and to see take that! Well jealous! 🤣 xx
I would go but give yourself an option of going home early if need be. I’ve had three egg collections and reacted differently each time. Bear in mind you wouldn’t be insured to drive yourself anywhere within 24hrs of sedation x
Are they going to put you to sleep or will you be awake for the procedure? I was asleep and so groggy when woke up I would NEVER have gone to a concert!
I felt ok after mine, but I was on the sofa all day! If you’re seated it might be ok... Give yourself some time to rest then see how you feel. I saw them last week and they were brilliant! Xx
