I’m in total shock, nearly 3 years trying, due for IVF in September 2019.

AF was late, which since doing acupuncture this is now unusual, so I tested just to stop myself from having any hope. We barely had any sex this month and missed most of the fertile window.

Only did one test, maybe this one is wrong?

I’d be around 5 weeks. Are my eyes deceiving me?

At work but have more tests arriving tonight!

Thanks so much Jess!! We bought a house, moved in 2 months ago - I was distracted (and perhaps relaxed more having a proper home?). Still not believing it (plus I know long way to go). ordered several more tests to be sure xxx

False positive test are extremely rare false negative way more common. It will take sometime to sink in but believe this is your time. You deserve it 👶🏻 definitely helps to take your eye off the ball (but so hard to do )xoxo

Congratulations! That is amazing! That looks like one solid, dark line! It must be a totally surreal experience for you especially since you'd decided to do down the IVF route and it happened naturally when you were least expecting it! Best of luck and keep us posted xx

Thanks you. Surreal yes, I’m not sure it’s happening. Long way to go, but fingers crossed it sticks. Was fully prepared/resigned for IVF (which I still am if I end up needing it) xx

Oh you’re so right! Was pretty stressful moving house but was a nice distraction, thought we’d give ourselves a couple months off to recover from the move. Were gonna try much harder next month. Thank you xx

Thank you! Doesn’t feel real yet. I started acupuncture last August, and get it every 2/3 weeks. But I have lots of other issues (mainly chronic pain) so she was dealing with those a lot of the time. Are you thinking about it? xx

Ah I bet! must feel surreal! Ah bless you,sorry to hear that. Has the acupuncture helped with that too? Yeah I have been. I've been doing reflexology since January and it's brought ovulation forward to CD 14 roughly (used to be around day 19). Just find it so relaxing but do wonder whether to give acupuntue a go and see whether I like it xx wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months! :)x

It has helped with that too, but I do lots of other things to help the pain so I’m much better than I used to be. She brought my periods from anywhere between 25-35 days long to 27/28 every month. She also improved the quality of my flow - it was very light before now it’s back to how it used to be years ago. That was after 3 months of acupuncture. She gives advice on foods and emotional factors too. Reflexology is great too! If you have any more questions about acupuncture feel free to message me.

Thanks! I actually thought it was the other way round at first - the strong line on the left I was thinking was the line that’s always there. I was rushing before work. Realised after that was the actual line!!

Congratulations to you! This is such wonderful news. I had a similar experience in that we have pur ivf in July this year but a few weeks ago I had a positive pregnancy test. So now I'm booked in for a viability scan.

Please let me know how you get on with your tests I'd love to know how you get on. Easiest to take one day at a time and enjoy it 😊 xx

I’m pretty scared and not quite sure what to do next - should I be trying to get a scan? who is your scan with? Not sure if I go to my GP’s midwife team for next steps or the fertility clinic? xx

Thank you! Yes I'm nervously awaiting my scan then I think it will feel more real.

I called my clinic and they sent me through an appointment to have a viability scan.

My GP surgery doesn't have a midwife but once i have a scan i think i will book an appointment with my GP if i need to.

But I would say definitely call and try and get a scan appointment. There's a checklist for what to do when you find out your pregnant on the NHS website so check that out 😊 xx

Ok so I think I’m starting to believe it now - Clearblue week indicator says 5 weeks which works out to the only date we did the deed near fertility window.

I really hope my posts haven’t upset anyone, my heart is still heavy for the journey I and everyone else has gone through/is going through. I don’t think it will ever leave me. It really has changed me completely.

I know there is a long way to go, this is my first ever BFP.

Thinking of everyone who hasn’t had their BFP yet, has but is scared at the moment and those who are waiting for treatment xx
