Does anyone else have a short cycle? Mine is only 22 days and just wondering how or if this effects IVF treatment or medication, had our first consultation and waiting now for planning appointment with the nurse 🌸 Xxx

Hi Kirsty, they will give you medication so that they can take control of your cycle 🙂 xxx

My cycle is short, long and not there lol! They give you medication to take for a week or ten days which lets them take control basically of when your period will come. Xxx

My fresh cycle was short about 3 weeks as it was on the back of being on prostap x I didn't know any different at the time so don't think it makes much difference but your clinic would be able to explain why I guess xx good luck hun xx

Some women’s norm is a short cycle. In one of two possibilities the portion of the cycle prior to ovulation is shorter than the average. Often times this means that enough time is not allowed for the full maturation of follicles so that your eggs can fertilize. Taking hormones from your clinic can correct this. If it is the portion of your cycle following ovulation that is short, this is often due to not enough progesterone being produced, resulting in a uterus that’s not able to maintain your fertilized egg. This, again, is corrected by hormones your fertility clinic will give you. ( :

Thank you for your replies 👌🌸

Hi just seen this. I also have short cycles some months. I also get spotting for up to a week prior to my period. My cycle varies between 21 and 32 days but on average is 25 days. Consultant said I will likely need Clomid to regulate and lengthen my cycle and progesterone gel to maintain my uterus lining as it may be breaking down too soon. I would mention it to your fertility consultant so they can look into it for you xx
