I had blood taken on Thursday which cost my husband and I over £700. I’ve also been advised to have the NK cells test done which would cost over £500. We had our first fresh round of ivf funded, I’m forever grateful for this. We’ve since paid for two frozen transfers, the medication, and one endometrial scratch. I’m still yet to have a bfp. I realise what we have spent is nothing compared to what some people have spent to achieve their dream.
I’m just beginning to feel a little taken advantage of at such a vulnerable time in my life. Why can’t all of the extra tests like for sticky blood, killer cells etc be done before any transfers are performed. It would save so much heartache and money for couples going through the torture of infertility.
Sorry for the moan, and I realise we’re all in the same boat. It’s just been playing on my mind since Thursday.
Love and baby dust to you all xx

Hey Jebby86, in my opinion if you can convince your clinic to let you try a low dose steriod before you fork out for NK cells testing then I'd do that. The treatment for NK cells is just that and some ladies on here have managed to get their clinician to let them give it a try it would save you some money!xx
I spoke to my doctor about being put on a low dose steroid. It was a no. Looks like I’ll be having the test done. Hopefully it’ll be worth it if it shows something and it results in me finally getting a bfp.
Hope you’re well and having a lovely weekend so far xx
Oh that's a shame. It's such a low dose, you'd think they would just let you try it! It's so frustrating when it could make all the difference. Yes, I had loads of tests done with a few things found on them, worth it to know that you're doing all that you can!!xx
There are so many 'add-ons' to consider these days and it can be a pretty confusing picture. When our first fresh ICSI cycle did not work out (1 fresh and 1 frozen transfer), I went on to have a hysteroscopy and NK cells tests. These revealed no anomalies. For me, personally, I had to do it to ensure I could look at myself in the mirror and say 'I've done all I could', even if we did not get pregnant. I then went on to have our second and final ICSI cycle and, with a lot of additional holistic help through naturopathy, acupuncture, diet etc., we got our positive result and still have 5 vitrified embryos. Keep going and keep positive.
