I have an operation coming up in a few weeks to remove my left Fallopian tube. The doctor said he might have to remove both if the other one is also blocked.
I only have one embryo frozen, so I will likely need more eggs collected.
Has anyone got experience of poorer egg quality or quantity after Fallopian tube removal? Or better quality?! One doctor said the operation can reduce blood flow to the eggs, and another doctor said it is fine.....confused.
I had the procedure but did have 4 embies frozen. My consultant also said it can reduce blood flow but the way in which he will do the operation won’t interfere. They snipped away part of my left tube but left it so that it doesn’t cause any disturbance to blood flow. I would want further information on where the blockage is located etc and find out exactly who will be carrying out the operation just to put your mind at ease. Good luck with your op xxx
Thanks so much Sandra. I don’t live in the UK and I am having the operation on health insurance which runs out in a few months.
Obviously I would never compromise on egg quality just to get the operation on insurance, but ideally if there is just an incredibly low risk it’s better I have the operation now rather than wait another six months for another egg collection....
...also, I have done two IVF cycles in four months and my body feel battered! The idea of another one so soon is petrifying! 😊
