Late onset OHSS advice 😩

Hello ladies,

I seem to have developed this nasty little symptom from my double transfer 9 days ago. After being checked over by the clinic yesterday, both ovaries are over 7cm big and are touching each other and I have a lot of free fluid in my abdomen. This all started from 6dp5dt (currently 9dp) felt a little uncomfortable after EC but wasn’t anything other than expected.

I guess I’m just reaching out to see if anyone has experienced this, when I should really worry and go to hospital and how long it can last for? My urine is clear so far and I’m passing regularly, I don’t really have lower pelvic pain but the bloat is so uncomfortable, getting worse throughout the day and unbearable at night. I’m also slightly breathless at times (when I try to breath in deeply). My clinic know all of this, they’ve taken my bloods and will let me know outcome today but have said if I get worse, to go to hospital but I’m not sure how much worse that is?!

Sorry for long post! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ladies xxx

I'm suffering from this right now. Just got my BFP which can make ohss worse. I look 4 months pregnant right now and nothing fits! I'm suffering from lower pelvis pain but apart from the bloating that's it. I also find it gets worse at night.

I phoned my clinic today and they said keep an eye on it and to increase my protein intake and drink when thirsty.

Oh no, your poor thing.. Congratulations on your BFP though! I’ve been admitted to hospital today with moderate OHSS.. Got a BFP tho which is great but as you say, the symptoms could get worse.. I would definitely see how you are and monitor it as I feel ok, apart from the free fluid causing the bloating but when the clinic took my bloods, my blood is dehydrated which is hence why I’m being monitored in hospital.. My bloating gets worse at night too..

Can I ask, did they transfer one or two embryos? I’ve had 2 transferred and wondering if both have took!! 😳😳

Congratulations again and I hope you start feeling better soon xxx

I’m wondering this! Everything I have read about late onset OHSS is that it is common in multiples! 😳 Will have to wait and see! Xx

That's great about your BFP! I only had the one embryo transferred....I mean I hope it hasn't split I'm not prepared for twins 😳

In an odd way it slightly make me feel better that I've came down with ohss because it means I'm still pregnant. I'm in near denial most of the time and keep expecting my period to appear when I go to the toilet.

I know what you mean as feel exactly the same!! I haven’t even seen a test result yet, the Drs at the hospital just said I was pregnant so I am still in a bit of disbelief!!

Make sure to take care of yourself though yeah.. xx

Yes I’ve read that OHSS is a good sign in terms of the pregnancy even if not great for you so hold onto that!!! X

Thanks. It's definitely a mild version of ohss but I'm keeping a close eye on it.
