Thyroid and ivf

Hello!

Just after some reassurance please..

I’m currently on 125 levothyroxine which I take at 5:30am then at 6am, 2pm & 10pm i take progynova with a pregnacare vitamin at 7pm.

My TFTs were checked just before starting the FET and were below 2.5 but I’m so worried that they may have changed with all the extra meds and don’t want it to end in another mc. Does anyone know when should they be checked again to make sure they are still ok? My levels never seem to stay stable.

It’s difficult fitting all the meds in with suitable gaps

Hopefully I’m doing it right xx

I was told by my clinic that it didn’t matter what time you took the progynova, it just needed to be 3x a day. I take 175 Levo at 5.30am, then was having progynova at around 9.30, 2pm, 8pm.

I don’t have a thyroid so my levels are pretty constant and haven’t once had them checked as part of IVF process

That’s interesting thanks, my clinic wanted the progynova at 8 hour intervals which is tricky with thyroxine , May move the morning one a bit later x

I am sorry to hear that but sadly I am not surprised. I am also so sorry to hear you had mc. I think as you are on a high dose of Levothyroxine and already had one mc is important you have TPOAb and TgAb tested as soon as possible. You may have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and this is very important information for the fertility clinic.

Have a look at Thyroid UK and British Thyroid Foundation websites for more information (and also my previous posts).

Also you may want to sign up to healthunlocked Thyroid forum. I am on both xx

If you struggle to get the GP to check, you can order a test privately through medichecks, they normally have an offer on Thursdays for thyroid tests.

Good luck x
