Egg collection complete....now the wait.

Hi all had egg collection Monday morning and they only got 2 wee eggs. On plus side they were mature and they were able to complete ICSI and got a call this morning to say they both fertalised so another hurdle jumped. They said was too soon to judge quality but my age (38) and 1.7 amh suggested quality may not be very good. Have been taking supplements including dhea for over 3 months now so really hoping they will both be strong and make it to day 5 on Saturday. The dreaded waiting begins.x

No wierdly i thought theyd call every day but today said they would call again on day 3 (and only doing that because i told them if not looking strong i wanted option of day 3 transfer) other than that guess they'll just call to let us know if they don't make it. In meantime no news is good news. Do u know how long before they can assess/tell egg quality?...because i might ring to find that out.

I'm not sure it must b the next day tho as previously I was told the day after ec to come for a 3 day or a 5 day transfer. So u are to ring I presume Thurs and if they think they aren't developing well they will tell u to come that day for transfer? There has been loads of success in 3dt and I even know a girl had a baby after a 2dt so try not to get too hung up on if it a 3dt or a 5dt. My embryoligist told me to come for 3dt when I only had two embryos as they say they still thrive better inside you and also when they were putting two back an I only had two, there was no benefit of waiting to day 5. Are they transferring one or 2 for u?

I dont think they have decided yet. They use time lapse imaging so they dont have to disturb when they are assessing them and claim its almost as good as being inside me so their new policy is to only do 5 day transfers and if they dont make it they were not going to anyway. I think come day 3 they may let me insist on a transfer if things are not looking good. If they are both really good quality i will use one but otherwise i might insist on the two if they will let me. Do you think you could be having transfer on saturday?

My transfer is Friday, providing the defrost ok, I have to ring at 12pm an they will tell me if they have defrosted oknl what time.. fingers crossed we b on 2ww together

Wonderful news that both were mature and fertilised.

Had my EC this morning and also got two. Keeping everything crossed for a positive update like yours when they call tomorrow 😬
