Anyone got a belly button piercing?

I thought I'd posted this the other day, but cannot see it now... Anyway, I went for an accupuncture appointment last Sunday and she said "I'm going to say something controversial now"! She said that in Chinese medicine, we all have a meridian line that runs down the centre of our body, this is also the line for conception. She spotted that I have a belly button piercing and said "you have a piece of metal smack bang in the middle of that path"! She said obviously, there are people out there who get pregnant all of the time with such piercings, but if removing it gives you an extra positive percentage, is it worth removing? I will do anything right now, so removed it straight after the appointment! I'd not heard this before though and wondered if anyone else has? This was my second appt with this lady, I was seeing a different accupuncturist last year but she never said anything about it. X

I had a belly button piercing when I got pregnant with my daughter and fell pregnant really easily and I know plenty of people who have got pregnant with one still in, I had issues when I didn't have it in haha obviously that wasn't the reason but honestly why would that make a difference? Xxxxxxx

I've been going to acupuncture with a belly button piercing and it's never been mentioned. But if it gives you peace of mind then no harm in removing it xi

I've heard that before. Can't remember who but they were annoyed with my tongue piercing being along the centre line. If i could go back and slap my 19 year old self upside the head i would. Did so much damage to my teeth

Well, it’s odd u say that. I removed mine and can’t get pregnant, when it was in I got pregnant easily.

Maybe I should put mine back in?xx

My reflexologist told me the same - that it’s blocking the flow.. I managed to get pregnant with ivf so proved it’s not that blocked but had a MC! Am still sceptical so I have left mine in for now but may remove it but you’re left with a hole that looks random I think! x

I figured I've had since I was 18 and am now 35. The hole probably won't heal particularly quickly so may be able to out it back if I really want it. It does look strange not having anything there now though! X

I had acupuncture for months before ivfand it was never mentioned. Have gone on to have a successful pregnancy after my first fet. I did take it out when I was around 4mths pregnant but that's because it was uncomfortable and tbh I couldn't be bothered with it anymore (I knew my stomach would never be flat enough to show it again!)

I suppose it does make sense though? If you've had the piercing for a while, it probably won't heal over anyway. I'd have taken it out too. Every little helps! Xx

Exactly. Every little helps in my mind! Like you said, my accupuncturist last year didn't say anything about it. Strange. Oh well, we'll see xx
