Hi All You Lovely ladies ...

I hope everyone is doing well on their journeys whatever stage you are all at! I have just received a call from the nurse i had my appointment with about my FET last Thursday, she says she has looked at my notes and realized i had a very difficult transfer last time round and so as spoken to consultant and they recommend i do a trial transfer first on 5th of April, never heard of one before tbh but just thought if they think its best i will go with it so now for the 5th of April! lol

Better the check and get it right before they thaw your Frostie xx

They do trial embryo transfers as standard at my clinic for every procedure. I think this is best practice. It allowed my clinic to realize a consultant needed to do my transfer and even she had to draw a little map to direct her to my awkward cervix!

I had my trial with gas and air and consequently knew I needed sedation for the real thing... my uterus really is very retroverted and makes things tricky! Just telling you in case yours was as unpleasant as mine and you would like to request sedation yourself! It costs but for me it is worth it.

Hi Girls..

Thanks for the reply..My last transfer was extremely awkward they had to ask me to leave drink another jug of water and try again which wasnt nice tbh! So tbh i am glad they have recognized this and are doing the trial one! good luck with your journeys lovely ladies!!

I had to go back a week later for another go after my first trial as it failed completely... I'm now feeling so glad that they do routine trials at my clinic! I would not have enjoyed having to do it twice for the real thing... poor you!

Hi liz1985. You go for it! They will learn so much about you and be able to do a straightforward transfer on the day, and give your frostie a better chance of transfer. Not enough clinics do a trial run, in my view. Good luck with it all, and for when you finally have it done for real. Thinking of you. Diane
