That must be so difficult and devastating for you. Can you share the reason you have been given and what they expect the gynaecologists to be able to say this time?
I have been on tranexamic acid 500mg and mefenamic acid 500mg since 2016 (when I found out I had PID) then earlier this month my doctor said to me that he didn’t want to give me these tablets any more as they aren’t helping my period pain, heavy periods or clots in the long run it’s just masking the problem, when I asked if he could give me anything else he said no the only thing he can suggest is he referrs me to gynaecology to have my ovarian cysts removed he said that they will be able to prescribe something more suitable for my periods. But back in 2016 when I had my first keyhole surgery (before I knew I needed Ivf) I was told when I woke up that if I was unsuccessful in conceiving naturally in the next 6-12 month (2016) then I would need ivf and if I was unsuccessful with that then I would need an hysterectomy. When I asked for an hysterectomy they told me they wouldn’t give me one due to me being so passionate about wanting to have children, I’m not eligible for nhs funded ivf and I’m not in a financial position to self fund ivf. Sorry about the long reply I hope your ok? x
It sounds like an impossible situation. I think I would ask them to map out what they see this next course of action would take as you do t want to go round in circles again.
Have they checked for endometriosis? Do they know why you are in so much pain? Is that the reason why they have denied your ivf? Xx
