Anti-thyroid blood tests

Hi, I've just found out that I need to have some blood tests done before I start de treatment - Anti-TPO, Anti-TG (both to test thyroid) and coagulation.

I've never heard of these before. Does anyone know if I can get them done at a local hospital or do I have to go to a fertility clinic? Any idea of costs?

Thanks xx

Hi,

If you're in the UK you should be able to get them done at your GP surgery. My clinic wrote a letter for the GP explaining which tests they needed and I had them done with no problem.

Good luck!

Hi your fertility clinic can request the tests but also your GP, saying that GPs would normally only request antibodies if TSH is raised.

Thanks, I'll have a chat with my GP about this.
