I hope you're all doing well in your own IVF journey. I'm after some advice if poss please! π Thank you in advance if you can help XX
I had my scan on Mon (11th Feb) and my lining was 8.5mm and ready to proceed with my FET, which has been booked for a week today (22 Feb).
πIn the lead up, is there anything I should be doing to help (either with diet or other?)
I am having accupuncture and am eating a good diet, no caffiene, alcohol etc and am taking vitamins and folic acid (along with the IVF meds) and I know I should be doing gentle exercise only.. is there anything else?
πPost transfer, what should I be doing/ not doing?
Some reasearch says to act normally during the 2ww, but others say to rest if possible (but not to lie down literally all day). I think last time I did a mix of rest πββοΈ and gentle walking πΆββοΈ/normal non stressful or strenuous jobs, but I did take a fortnight off work. This time I have taken a week off with possibly more, but wondered if there's anything diet wise I can be doing? I've got accupuncture booked in for before and after the transfer.
It's vague but I think I remember you're not supposed to have hot baths after transfer... Is that right?! Can I use a hot water bottle on my tummy before transfer?
I have been through 2 cycles already (and I'm very lucky to have a little girl π from my 2nd cycle, who is nearly 2 now). This is my first FET (and I have a shocking memory and can't remember all that I did last time!) π I remember something about eating a tonne of π pineapple?!! π
If you have read this far ππ€, well done! And thank you if you're able to help!!π Lots of luck to you all whatever stage you are at ππππππππππ xxx

I have lots if pineapple (dunno if it helps but I ate it and broccoli by the bucket when I had my daughter lol) and ensure you drink your 2 litres of water a day. Other than that just relax I think?
I had to go back to work today but hubby and me had a nice breakfast Saturday morning for our 10 year anniversary and just a day at home Sunday and Monday quality time relaxing.
Have you got much planned? I thought i was more relaxed this time round but I'm going a bit loopy Xxx
Think you are doing everything that you can. I did all of the mentioned, also I tried to eat only hot or warm food and drinks, not sure if that helped though. One of the most important things is to try to stay positive. Don't take hot baths or put anything warm on your belly.
And think happy thoughts when your transfer is taking place and after π
Thanks lovely. I like the think happy thoughts during the transfer tip! Always makes me think I'm going to wee when it's the transfer... And that being upside down could be a problem as I'd become a water fountain πππ After everything we ladies are put through, you have to laugh don't you! Hope you're in a good place with your IVF journey x
What an image π The trick is to not drink too much water, on my first round I downed a litre of water beforehand. Then I had to let it out in trickles as I thought my bladder would busrt, but that made me want to go even more. The second time I just had a cup of tea which I sipped on half an hour before. All is good so far I got a bfp 6days after, and now taking it day by day πππππ
Hehe yes, you need to only half fill your bladder. 1st time round I was full to bursting, second time not as full but the room was extra cold which made me want to wee more! π Best of luck, are you in your 2ww now? Xx
