Progesterone pessaries- how much to take??

Can I ask how much is everyone taking and are you just taking it from day of positive pregnancy test or from ovulation?

From memory I was taking 400mg twice a day and I started taking these the evening of my egg collection. If you get a positive pregnancy result then you should carry in taking them until 12 weeks but I know every clinic is different x

Hi Emmyeve. It is usually prescribed from embryo transfer, and continues often up to around 12 weeks of pregnancy. A usual dose is 400 mgs twice a day, but your clinic will advise you how much to use. Good luck! Diane

Thank you. I’m trying to conceive naturally before my ivf starts in April (to avoid all the pesky hormone disruption, although I’m grateful to be having ivf of course) and I was told it’s best to take from ovulation until positive test and then continue to take if poz or break if neg. Do you agree?

I’ve only ever had it as part of an IVF cycle, but essentially my clinic start it from day of egg collection/5 days before FET which is the equivalent of ovulation day in a natural cycle. Keep on taking throughout 2ww and then if you achieve a positive (but would speak to your clinic about how long for as they all have different views). Good luck!
