Does anyone find the effects when taking DHEA unbearable? Does it really help? I’m umming and ahhhing whether the benefits outweigh the cons. Xxxx

Hi there, I've been on DHEA since May and haven't had any side effects whatsoever. No hair thinning, no spots or greasy skin. I didn't feel different in any way. I have had 2 ivf cycles but unfortunately for me, I haven't had any good results with it. But there are ladies that feel it has been beneficial. I have continued to take it (hoping and praying) and I'm going to go back and do a few clomid rounds in the hope that not taking all the stimms will help with my quality. Here's to hoping and wishing. If you are going to take it, I started on a lower dose and worked my way up to the 75mg a day xx

Hi there I have been on dhea since September and the only side effect I have had is a few spots which can be annoying at Times but no a massive problem. I don’t know if it has helped as due to start next round in Feb so we shall see xx

Hi Leo, it’s a supplement that my consultant recommended to increase the quality of my eggs, as I had only one egg of good quality in my first round of ivf and have been diagnosed as perimenapausal 😭

I would say I've had the odd bit of oilier skin & hair but that's it...oh maybe heavier periods & more crampy. For me the benefits always outweighed these minor issues!xx

Thanks ladies. I was advised to try it and then read a great long list of side effects....I’m waiting for a spinal op before my next round of ivf so I’m fed up of side effects of drugs at mo xx

I am not sure if it contributed to my pregnancy but I was taking it. Worst side effect was acne but it got better over the months. Frustrating but manageable.

I took 50mg for 3 mths my skin and hair was abit greasy but no other side affects I didn’t have good results we did conceive within 3 mths but mc yet again I also took ubiquinol pqq amongst other supplements.

I’ve been taking dhea also since October and haven’t had any side affects at all. I was kinda worried and questioning it as I had read so many ppl having side affects on it. Maybe I’m just lucky but it’s a relief to hear other ppl had no side affects either...phew!!!

Also taking ubiquinol and a good few other supplements. Cycling in feb too so hoping for the best. X best of luck to you hun.

I would say it defo helped with our last cycle. 1st and 2nd cycle 9 & 16 embryos but only 1 from each made it to day 5 with no Frosties, both ended in MC. 3rd attempt after 4mths of DHEA gave us 9 embryos with 5 making it to day 5. We now have 3 in the freezer although it didn't give us a BFP it certainly helped with my egg quality. Only side I struggled with towards the end was the acne on my back xx

Hi i've been taking DHEA for just over a month now and cant be completely sure these problems are related to dhea but i've experienced;

Weight gain

Anxiety

Spots

Greasy hair

Real lows and mood swings

My ivf treatment starts in just under 2 weeks and i'm just gonna keep going till then as if it helps with egg quality (i have low amh) it will be well worth it
