I had a BFN on New Year’s Eve. It was my first cycle. I had such high hopes. Which is prob why I feel so let down. 5 eggs where collected. 2 eggs where frozen. My plan was to use them for my second cycle.
I went for my follow up appointment this afternoon. They think that it didn’t take because of a gene failure of some sort.
Has anyone had this? I’m so worried that this is going to happen next time too.
Any advice/feedback would be great xx

Thanks for your reply. Yes it is rubbish isn’t it. Yes they have said that I can go ahead and use the frosties. They would put both in so obviously a chance of multiple. Or I can do a fresh cycle and leave the frosties for the future if needed.
But it doesn’t stop me worrying that the same would happen next time.
I don’t know weather a fresh cycle would be better? Xx
Im not quite sure what the hospital meant by some kind of genetic failure as that term is pretty vague but reading between the lines I wonder if they meant due to some chromosomal issues such as aneuploidy?! Although the embryos may have looked ok under the microscope they may have been aneuploidy which is one of the most common reasons for failure and miscarriage in natural conception and IVF.....Im only reading between the lines. I think you need to quiz the hospital a bit more on this to be honest. Ive attached a link below that explains things in more detail further down the page.....xx
Unfortunately having IVF does not guarantee that all embryos will be perfect and the odds of successful outcomes are not really in our favour. They usually say it takes on average 3 attempts to be successful although of course some are very lucky and it works first time and some are very unlucky.....its a big old lottery Im afraid. Ive had 4 unsuccessful transfers so far but so long as there we are willing to take a gamble then we have a chance of success so try not to give up hope! Your hospital should have their own success rates if you look on the HFEA website for your clinic, link below.xx
