Myth or truth....? Best positions to conceive?

Hello & Happy New Year to All,

OK, so I wondered if anyone actually had any hard facts on the following please as it’s something that no one really seems to talk about & my clinic don’t seem to have a view?

Does it help you conceive if the woman is lying on her back when having sex?

I read a review from a London based clinic somewhere that the woman should lie on her back afterwards for at least 10 mins, (but to be honest, you can end up reading so much it can drive you completely potty!!) LOL

Surely if this was significantly important people would have made me aware?

Anything else that may help? Legs in air? Putting cushion under your bottom? Not going to the toilet to soon!?

X

I don’t think it makes much difference I mean unless you only have sex in one position the entire fertile week then lie on your back for 10mins even then it’s all chance could be another reason like everything is lined up good enough egg sperm lining enough sex timing etc I think unless you have any issues I really think it’s just luck

Hi Fireflies. If your womb tilts backwards, it might be best to make love “doggy” style, to tip your womb forward and place cervix in better position. The sperm is deposited right by the cervix, so less distance to swim! Could be good for wombs in normal position too. No worries about going to the toilet too soon as urine comes out of a different orifice and you wee down not up! Sperm have tails so they can swim, so no need to worry about lying down, or legs in air! Have fun! Diane

I think it is a myth. It doesnt matter what way you do it. Its all about the formation of the embryo. So I don't think you should care. One of the reasons why I don't gather too much information. Mainly because it just gets a little too much for the brain to retain. Sometimes the information is conflicting as well. Good luck to you.
