We got all our medications from the hospital pharmacy but recently by chance we heard that Asda do discounted IVF medicines, not sure how large the discount is.

Asda don't add profit to medication they sell it at cost, I saved a few hundred £ by going there rather than using fertility2U through the clinic. I would say though they don't usually have what you need in stock so they order it and you will have to wait a few days for it so make sure you get your prescription well before you need to start taking the meds x

I used the Fertility medication centre for all of my cycles and they were by far the cheapest and least hassle for me.

I just sent my prescription to the FMC for a quote and called my local Asda for a breakdown of for comparison.

I agree with the others with Asda. When I last checked in May 2022 here are the prices I were given for what I needed / might have needed.

Buserelin 1 vial is £16.51

Utrogestan 200mg Progesterone Pessaries 1x £1

Evorel 100mcg Estrogen Patches x8 £4.30

Inhixa x10 £29

Steriod 5mg x28 £1.20

Lubion 25mg x 1 vial £8

However, my clinic has now changed their policy and started charging £55 per private prescription. So unfortunately this time around it is probably going to be cheaper for me to get them though their provider. So I would double check if they charge and see if you can get pricing from Fertility2U and double check with Asda, they have always been really helpful with me when I have contacted them.

Good Luck in your FET xx

Is that £55 per med or per prescription with them all on.

I was told £55 per item that for the total prescription costs over £50. So for example if I need x30 Inhixa it would cost me an extra £55 from the clinic for the private prescription. But I am waiting for my protocol at the moment so once everything has come through I'll have a better idea and will update xx

I recently tries to go to Asda for buserelin and didn't have much luck. Could just be the store I went to but they never had the same pharmacist and were confused when I said I had a private prescription. When they evwntually tried to order it, they said they were having problems getting buserelin from the supplier. I checked this with other pharmacists and they said the same. I had no choice but to pay at the hospital pharmacy which was further away and more expensive. That being said, I will try Asda again when I get my next prescription for stims etc.
