After our first round of failed ICSI and 6 weeks wait we finally have our follow up appointment on Thursday. I am very anxious and worried to what they will say. When I got my BFN I had 1000 questions in my head and now I can’t think of any other than was I on the right plan and why I didn’t work?
We’ve been trying to conceive for many years before we had our NHS referral due to poor sperm count.
We both found everything overwhelming so we avoided any google research in the hope that we will learn everything at the clinic. I must say that I still don’t understand the different protocols and don’t think was ever explained. I followed what I was told to do and that was it. I was on Bemfola 300 and cetrodine. Everything seemed to be very positive during my treatment so i didn’t worry or made any fuss about it.
Reading the posts on here i feel that everybody is so well informed and I wonder if you have any advice for me and recommend any questions I should ask on the follow up appointment.
Thank you x

You were on short protocol then by the sounds of it which is easier mentally and physically than long. Do you have any Frosties left or will then next round be a fresh cycle? Sorry about the fail, it really hurts I know xx
Yes you really do have to stay positive. Lots of us do enter our first round possibly slightly too optimistic I think... when truthfully it takes an average of 3 rounds I think. But lots of people get positives on round 1 or 2!xx
I tried to be realistic as the statistics are only 23% success for my age group but I do think that you forget all about that during the treatment and like you said become too optimistic. I never thought I would be strong enough to go through it and overcome the needle phobia. A fail is very painful but I know I am a lot stronger now. Fingers crossed we both get a positive next time. Xx
