Wait for questionnaire?

Hi all

We had an appointment at Kingston hospital last Wednesday where we were finally told we had passed all of our tests and we’re now officially being referred to start IVF. We were told we would receive a questionnaire in the post which we need to fill in asap and will then find out if we qualify for NHS funding. How long did everyone have to wait to receive this letter? And then how long after you filled it in did you wait to find out if you qualified for funding?

Thanks in advance!

I had a long wait for my funding. We were told it takes about 6-8 weeks for a decision once the application has been received but we waited over 12 weeks. I hope the process is speedy for you xx

Thank you. That's so rubbish you had to wait 12 weeks. Surely they know when they read your application if you qualify or not! We received our questionnaire yesterday and got an email back today saying we would hear something in 2 weeks so fingers crossed! x

Sorry, I didn’t have to complete a questionnaire to determine NHS eligibility so I’m not really sure how long it takes. Hopefully not too long for your sake. Very best of luck to you xx

I had my treatment at Kingston. Although I can't remember how long it took to get all the paperwork sorted, I remember being impressed and surprised at how quick it all was. We had approval in Jan and by March I'd had my first transfer (which was unsuccessful, sadly). So super fast!

I went on to get pregnant via a FET from the same cycle. I would very highly rate Kington hospital ACU. We always felt very looked after. I asked all sorts of silly questions and they always took any concerns seriously. You are in good hands :)

And if you hopefully go on to get pregnant, I would really recommend the maternity wing at kingston. It's supposed to be one of the best in the country. We truly felt looked after. I'll always remember my stay at the hospital once baby arrived. Those days will stay with me forever!

Good luck. I hope your experience is as positive as ours :)

Thank you for your reply, it was such a nice message to read and very reassuring to hear such good things about Kingston! We actually got our questionnaire through yesterday which was only one week after our appointment which was a very nice surprise. They've said we will hear something within two weeks but whether that's confirmation or not I don't know. Fingers crossed! Congratulations on your baby :) x

Really glad you appreciated the message. I truly wish you the very best. I'm so grateful for the NHS and Kingston. My baby is the best thing to happen to me. Best of luck on your journey :)

(Also they offer a counselling service. I struggled after my first try failed and really needed it. Makesure to ask about counselling as the journey can be hard and scary)
